Any suggestions on which neighborhoods are the best to trick or treat? We just moved out here and have no idea where to go besides some of the churches that are doing trunk or treat.

Ridgepoint, Woodspring Estates, ducks water, sage meadows would be the safest place to go.

The neighborhood at corner of aggie and airport is a good place to go. On flat ground, houses are close together and it is mostly families that live there. Who wants to walk up and down hills all night over in the VV neck of the woods.

Those neighborhoods will be safe and you know they will give out the good candy!

Stay in your own neighborhood, I get tired of these kids that I have no idea who they are, showing up with their paper sacks wanting candy.

The best place is within walking distance of your own neighborhood. I get tired of car loads of kids from other areas descending on our neighborhood like a bunch of locusts every year. I spend about $50 on candy and still end up running out and cringing behind drawn curtains in my darkened house because the cars just keep on coming.

Wrong. Too many blacks and college kids have moved into that subdivision. Not as friendly as it used to be.

Well, here is an idea, take your kids to the mall or better yet to a church that does trunk or treat! Maybe you won't get any blacks or young college kids handing out candy! Your an idiot! The OP asked for a good place, if you know a better neighborhood then provide an answer not a racist comment about someone else's idea.......

Trick or treat in your own neighborhood peasants! It's disgusting how the common folk know their own neighborhood is trash so they come out to Ridgepointe to get "good candy".... I will have 2 buckets of candy this year, one for the kids who actually live in my neighborhood and one full of cheap taffy from the dollar store I will stick needles in! Be gone riffraff stay in your own district
The reason I asked is because considering how bad the crime is now becoming I want to make sure my kids are safe. If you hate people from your city coming to your house then turn off your lights and don't participate. Where i'm from we welcomed all kids whether they were in our neighborhood or not. The point of trick or treating is not about staying on just the few streets you live but going all around town. I do appreciate those that did make suggestions.

Since when does it matter what kids go to what neighborhood we all want our children to be safe and I thought Halloween was for ALL kids to have fun no matter where they are from. Kids can't help where they live and sometimes parents don't have 1,000 dollars a month to rent a place in a safe neighborhood. I understand that candy costs money but if you feel that way then why give out candy at all. Go make special bags and go to the kids homes you know and give them their own little bags of candy

Go trick or treat in hell so you can be close to your own. The filthy swine in Jonesboro don't care if your lights are on or not, they are going to invade your home and do all the damage they can while they can, using Halloween as an excuse for the crimes they commit every day against friends, neighbors, and strangers. Stay the hell home if you want to keep your missing links safe. No place in Jonesboro is safe. The public records prove that. It doesn't all get in the paper or on TV but you should be able to see enough of it to know if you're not brain dead.

For me, the problem is not the little kids who come to trick or treat. I don't care where they are from; they are adorable and welcome to any candy I give out. I think most of the other people who live in "good" neighborhoods feel that way, too.

BUT, the problem is not the little kids accompanied by an adult. The problem is the BIG kids (teens) who come to the door--usually not even dressed in a costume.

Trick or treating is for young children. It is not for big kids to come to the door in groups that are pushing and holding out big paper sacks to be filled up.

And I've had white kids do this as well as black kids. it's not a color thing--it's an age thing.

I have never been comfortable with allowing my children to ring a stranger's doorbell no matter how nice the neighborhood may be. I opted instead to invite all their classmates, friends from church and ball teams, etc. to a huge party at our house on Halloween rather than take them trick or treating. Their friends were welcome to bring other friends and siblings as well and nobody was concerned about race, religion or social status.

They roasted weiners, made s'mores and told ghost stories around a big bonfire, bobbed for apples and played other carnival type games, had costume contests with lots of categories to win in, danced in the garage and driveway, made some new friends and each one got a little treat bag to take home.

Some of the parents stayed and had almost as much fun as the kids did and some parents appreciated having a few kid-free hours knowing their children were in a safe, kid friendly environment. It worked out well for everyone and the kids enjoyed it so much that we continued having Halloween parties well into their teen years.
