Michele Vana wants to blame the driver citing an alleged wreck less driving history. However, one must examine if her son might also have had a wreck less history - of not wearing a seatbelt. If so, and she had any knowledge of this, and she allowed her som to be in vehicles where he might not be buckled up- is she partially to blame also?

Should she file a civil suit against herself???
wont bring him back

It was an accident. That is it. The driver has to live with this the rest of his life, without going to trial. This is just keeping the anger going and not helping her other two children to move forward.

Good. Trouble maker kids need to be held accountable for their actions.

was he drunk or high at the time?..... Was the person killed wearing a seat belt?.... This was tragic dont get me wrong... but to ruin the drivers life over a accident?.... Only good thing is if found guilty the driver would be out by 21.

It was horrible what happened..it was an accident.
Daniel has to live with that nightmare for the rest of his life. He shouldn't be in court. They didn't find drugs or alcohol in his system.
I feel for the Vana family but I also feel for Daniel, his life will be never be the same.

This family just wants to blame someone for an accident. What happened to the deer story? Also this family makes me sick how they always have their cars out in their drive way like they are so special just cause granny bought them all cars when they were 15. Great job. I've heard that Jay liked to drive fast and reckless also. Where were the parents when the kids would have other kids over drinking in the basement? Careful when you start blaming others for your mistakes! You might not pay now but what goes around comes around!

Yeah, what about what the autopsy said about Jay Vana. Oh wait, Tommy wouldn't allow one. Maybe Jay got into Daddy's mistresses coke stash. Shame on the Vana family.

This is a child you are talking about and a father that lost his son. Shame on you.

To add to the above; I wouldn't want an autopsy if my child died in an auto accident either. What is the point?

Being a friend of Jay Vana and reading all of your foul and inaccurate comments make me sick. You do not know the family nor do you know how it affected them and his friends. You also do not know Daniel and the remorse that he had. Unless you know the REAL story of all that's happened I suggest you keep your disgusting assumptions to yourself so people like myself don't have to see this bull.

Two buddies out for a great night of fun. Thinking back, if not for God, there go I. I don't know these folks, and this is terrible. But for the love of God, the survivor has, is, and will suffer self inflicted pain for the rest of his life over this. Bad things happen to good people too. It was a terrible accident, but young friends do this every day. It was an accident. Recovery is painful, but would the dead youg man want his buddy in jail? I think not....

I think you are correct, God should be the one charged with murder.

You summed it up perfectly. Common sense like you demonstrated here is a thing of the past in this country. People have become hateful, jealous, and vengeful. That is very sad!

First if you don't want to see it stop coming on here. Second were you at McDonalds with them that night? If not mind your own also. Third if you were at McDonalds did you have any cannabis that night?

So people can't comment or be considered his friend unless they were with Jay at McDonalds before the accident? Secondly, cannabis is a non issue as a passenger of a car. Weed isn't the problem. Crazy, erratic driving is.

Were you high at McDonalds that night?

Another thing to mention is Michele Vana filed her civil suit after criminal charges were already filed. If it was an adult driving around a corner at 80 mph and killed their friend, you better bet your bottom dollar they'd be going to jail too. The 15 year old boy that was driving the car in Aurora that killed 15 yr old Devin was charged as an adult. Daniel was days away from being considered an adult so they are actually going easy on him.

Why is nobody blaming the car? Whenever we have a shooting death, everyone blames the gun, not the shooter.

Well said young gun. Problem is they would come back and say that if they were driving a chevy volt none of this would have happened plus they would say they never would have stopped for gas. What a lie.
