Just curious if anyone out there has actually signed up for Obamacare? If so, how were the rates for the coverage you got?

(I honestly have met no one racing to sign up for this program)

The sign up website is a bigger catastrophe than obamacare! Dick (turbin) Durbin says the demand is do high for obamacare that the applicants blew the website system down! I'm not kidding! LOL! The sad thing is many believe him! Hahahaha!

Notice how quiet "Four More" has been about Obamacare? No boasting? No bragging? Everyone who got through got the shock of their lives! LOL!

Premiums about the same as current but with much lower deductible and my wife will have real insurance for the first time in years.Enough said?

I heard deductibles are anywhere from 4-8k per family on the radio? I also heard some providers are requiring the deductible up front before services are rendered? Any idea if this is factual?

My girlfriend just had a procedure done at the hospital. She has a $5,000 deductible and they asked for it all upfront. They called 3 times in two days before the procedure.

Obamacare doesn't start until January so she must be on a private plan. Our family deductible will be $3500 and that's with my wife having had cancer. My wife had only very basic insurance with a rider that no cancer was covered. That was BC BS.

I am signed up yesterday. I now have free health insurance paid for by somebody else. I work for cash and show no income and with the old lady's welfare, section 8 rent payments and food stamps, I am all set. Life is good with Obama. Suckers! You rock four more years!

I think many people were holding back and will continue to hold back because of the party opposition to the plan. If republicans win the next election, will we all become ping pong ball pawns in an effort to win this fight at our expense. Those who have no insurance or high premiums due to pre-existing conditions have nothing to lose by signing on. But those who have pre-existing conditions and manage to handle their premiums now may be fearful of losing their coverage all together if the rules change again down the road.

Does anyone know if there are any safeguards in The ACA to prevent this from happening?

This was done under the current rules and has nothing to do with Obamacare.

I just heard that yesterday on the radio Appalled. Due to Obamacare high deductibles, providers and hospitals are beginning to require the deductible paid in full before services rendered now. They claim its because they know most people don't have the cash to cover the high deductibles, and don't want to get burned. They also claim that the Obamacare policies are very limited to where you can go for doctors, hospitals, & treatment as well. They are not open ended policies. They have a lot of restrictions attached! They suggested contacting the providers for all that information before signing into a contract with them.

This sounds like a far cry from what was promised to people!

Know someone who explored options yesterday. For their family, healthy, young, non-smoker, for same coverage will pay $4500 more per year in premiums with ACA. No thank you.

I know it's not but the hospitals are already starting to collect before the procedures. Now you will have all these people insured with high deductibles that still won't be able to pay their hospital or doctor bills. You have someone making $20,000 a year with a subsidized plan and a $10,000 deductible. That person ends up in the hospital and runs up lets say a $30,000 bill and has to pay the $10,000. You think the hospital is going to get it?

Who is getting burned now when treatment is given to the uninsured? It really is lousy that the system will evolve to this. That is not how good, honest, hardworking people who pay their bills should be treated but........and I am not defending the practice.....but wouldn't this force people to take responsibility for their own care and keep you and me from footing the bill? Isn't that what you have been asking for?

I totally see your point but that same person probably didn't have any insurance before and the hospital was getting the whole $30,000 out of you and me. At least now they are squeezing a premium out of them just like my premium is squeezed out of me. So, which way do you want to get abused?

Your absolutely correct. We know the answer is NO! The providers are not going to subsidize health care for 50 million. Who can blame them?

I believe Obamacare is a failure by design. Obama and the Progressive Marxist Left have always wanted single payer government control of everyones healthcare. Obamacare is their path to it! Marxism is the Iron Fist disguised as compassion for the masses!

Obamacare was supposed to be a victimless program. Remember? Obama promising Healthcare Utopia to everyone?

I suppose the providers are not going to render the services if the patients can't afford them? Providers won't lose a dime.

Remember me telling you Obama is a master of deception? Obama has repeated that everyone deserves health care, especially for pre-existing conditions? Obama never guaranteed anyone treatment? Everyone has this misconception that if you have health care insurance, you will get the treatment you need. Well guess what? Many are in for a rude awakening with Obamacare!

It Looks like common sense has shut everyone up. You are no fun bringing the reality aspect to everything you speak on. I find it amazing how many people dismiss and refuse to accept reality.

Professor & Common Sense... I agree with you both.

Reality? Sadly, Obama has personally lied pretty much about every aspect of Obamacare. Go do some googling to verify that. Sooooo, why would anyone believe what he says today? <lol

IMO Obamacare will crash & burn by itself based upon it's lies & deceptions. Those fighting it, will fix & replace the parts that make sense, like pre-existing, your doctor, cross state insurance competition, etc... Obama, Reid & Pelosi types will be long gone, and will care less.
Darrel, why wasn't any of these things addressed during the previous Republican administration? Don't you get free health care from your school pension?
