So if you have inside information, I suggest you keep it to yourself. That could impede a police investigation if it is revealed. There is a reason that the police don't release ALL the information about a crime. If you can't understand that then you shouldn't speak about things unless you are absolutely sure it is meant to be made public. Actually, the part about the girl's face being beaten and her rape was on Fox News the day after the discovered her. It was an early morning report. There were a lot of rumors and statements being made about the death by the media BEFORE the police wanted the information kept secret. And I can understand that, but we also need to know what we're dealing with. It's fine for the cops and courts to keep everything quiet, but we have our children to think about. There may be something in the case that can help us protect our kids. And even if this isn't a serial killer, Kaylor did not die of natural causes there on the forest preserve trail. Someone is murdering our kids, and in my opinion, the police need to work harder to solve these cases.

dream police wrote: <quoted text> Both girls were black, one 13 and one 16. Both girls were found on a forest preserve trail--not hidden and grotesquely posed--as if the murderer was proud of his "works of art." The girls were foudn within five miles of each other. Both were found on a Sunday (I believe). The latest girl had her face beaten in, and "other violence" to her person, but I've heard from a reliable source (from the media) that she was raped. I did not hear she was burned, but everything else is eerily similar. The reason you are not hearing things in the paper or on the news is because the police do not want to let out details due to the similarity of the two cases. They're waiting for someone to say something that the general public wouldn't know. Or to confess. That leads me to believe they suspect a serial type of murderer. And whoever said it wasn't priority because the girls were black is right. And that's a damned shame. But still, the police are nervous over these murders because it does seem to indicate the murderer may strike again and perhaps sooner than it took for the second girl to be killed. And one more thing. The girls may have been "wild," but that doesn't excuse the murderer. They didn't deserve to die. How do you know the Dellwood girl, Kaylor Spells, was "grotesquely posed" or that her face was "beaten in" or that she was raped? I have not seen, read, nor heard any information of this type in any media report. The only information that the media has provided was her name, age, and family comments.

I live a little more than 3 blocks away from Dellwood Park and this is terrifyingly scary. I have a young child but this person(s) appears to be targeting African American teen girls, but you never know. As a community, until this person(s) is caught, we should stress that our children ALWAYS have a buddy when out walking anywhere, anytime. It's not a bad idea for us adults to buddy up when out walking either. Hopefully the police will get on this and solve these murders so we can rest a little more easier. A little information may also help ease some of our fears.

MY heart goes out to the families of Kaylor Spells and Haquikah Suggs,no mother should go through this,God give you strengh to continue on. This did not only effect their families but all of us in way or another. My son knew Haquikah and this has changed him. I think someone needs to talk to "dream police" one on one you seem to know to much.

Why was my post deleted?
Skittles, you need to tell the authorities what you or your neighbor saw!!!
If Kaylor was at that house that night, there will be evidence that may be crucial to this case!!!
Do the right thing and report what you saw. There's no reason to feel silly or feel like you're over reacting. There is a family out there that is heartbroken and wants, no NEEDS, some answers!!!

tired of joliet wrote: if she was a white girl get over it the first girl was black and we know her your racist deal with that That doesn't even make sense. Both girls were black. It shouldn't matter what color they were. We know the first girl was murdered, but there is speculation on what happened to Kaylor Spells as far as whether she was murdered or not. I think the police are keeping hush on it because they're looking for more evidence before they make a conclusion. Maybe they're hot on the trail of this perp! Hopefully they catch him and throw the book at him! It's a shame that people like you perpetuate ignorance by making statements like "if she were white..."

I also heard the fox news broadcast about the murder, and I also heard she had been beaten and murdered. The next day you heard nothing. The put a gag on the media.
After the news came out on Fox that she was murdered, the police backtracked and called her death "suspicious," but that always means murder. If she committed suicide, they'd admit it. Otherwise, what the heck is a suspicious death?
I agree that the police should at least verify that she was murdered--and how-- and should let us know if it was similar to the first case, and that WOULD point to a serial killer, wouldn't it? Or if it's not similar, then tell us.
I'd hate to think some schizo is out there murdering young girls and the police won't let us know. If someone is out there killing young girls then we should be told. That way we can protect our children. I'd say be very careful and keep your kids home at night. If this is a serial killer, we won't have heard the last of him. They never stop until they're caught. And I don't see any sign of an apprehension.

I want to know what the heck is going on. There was an article in the Joliet Herald News on the 21st. They're looking to the public to come forward with anything they think was suspicious on the night of Kaylor's death. They're also looking for people that may have seen Kaylor walking or around Dellwood Park on that night or morning. I hope the person that said they saw candlelight in the abandoned house comes forward and calls CrimeStoppers! They can remain anonymous!!!

Hey, Im Sylvania, Haqikah's older sister. I agree with everything Jameelah said. I believe that whoever did this to her had to know her and saw her everyday. For them to do all of what they did, they couldn't have been a stranger to her. I just hope they catch whoever did this. She was my baby and I cry about it everyday. Nobody deserves to go out like that. She was a baby.

You're right, maybe the guy knew both girls, or maybe he just knows where young girls hang out. Maybe the two girls were just very unlucky. The two girls were killed in very similar ways and both left on forest preserve trails. Does someone have to put up a billboard to get the attention of the police. PLEASE. Let's get this guy behind bars before another young girl dies.
