This is what Bully police officers do to citizens after they arrest them when no one is around. They believe they are above the law and commit acts of violence like this and suffer no repercussions because they are cops. I hope this poor lady owns Skokie IL when the lawyers are done with them. You know this is not the first time this officer committed a horrific act of violence like this! He should be tried criminally and civilly for this crime! Cops need to be mentally evaluated before being hired. There is just too much of this violence happening from the police!

It is a disgusting video. She should get something. The police wouldn't even charge him. That's the disgraceful part.

Many police departments act in the same fashion. They protect their own to the grave. Police are getting more and more defiant against the people they take an oath to protect. It's a sad story Big Guy! I feel the same as you! That poor lady had such severe injuries, she had to undergo surgery and get a titanium plate put in her face.

Not once in that video was there a 'beating'. It appears that she was pushed into the cell, lost her balance and hit the bench. The cops immediately tended to her and began first aid. One cop was even cradling her and trying to help her. The cop who pushed should be suspended or reprimanded. The department needs to review procedures and training. If that was my child or spouse, yes I would be pissed and file a suit. But to say there was police brutality and a bearing as the video headline suggest is just wrong.

I am not saying the cop did nothing wrong. I disagreed that he pushed with all his might. He used one arm and maybe she was under the influence. I just have a problem with the sensationalism of the incident. It just shows that on this forum everything has to be black and white for most posters. There can never be gray for some. Perfect example is Professor wishing me personal injury simply for the reason that I don't agree 100% with his flawed opinion. I can't imagine what Prof would want me to suffer if I was an Obama supporter

This person simply expressed their opinion based on what they saw in the clip and you came back with this comment. Tell me again how you do not disrespect opinions that do not fully agree with yours.

You said it don't look too bad? It was only a little push according to you? He only used one arm! How is wishing you the same anything bad?

Her face was shattered you idiot, multiple surgeries, and a titanium plate put in her face! You see a gray area with this? No one in their right mind would! You are mentally ill making light of what happened to this lady. That's all I can say is your an extremely sick minded individual!

I agree. We did not see what happened prior to the incident but based on what the clip shows that cop was out of line. This does not mean though that most or even many cops behave this way as the OP is suggesting.

Making sweeping generalized statements based on cherry picked incidents IMO usually reveals a personal agenda. Entire professions should not be judged on the actions of a few. The few should be identified and handled accordingly. I trust there are enough honest cops to make this happen.

You see a gray area with this video too? I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. That was down right evil what that cop did to that defenseless lady. I refuse to respect the opinion of someone mentally ill making a comment like that.

I bet if was his daughter, mother, or him he would'nt have the same opinion?

On second thought maybe he would?

That's not what I heard him say at all. He did not make light of it. You are so postured for a fight that you do not even hear what other people are saying.

Nobody is denying what the clip shows. You made that up in your head. "Someone" even said if it was his loved one he would be pissed. Did ya miss that in your hurry to start a fight.

The issue here is not that poor woman's injuries or that lousy cop. It is your attempt to color the whole profession in the light of this incident. See Post No. 3.

Why would I be joking? Nobody has excused what that cop did. I just feel that the Profs real intention is to demean and belittle cops.

That one cop should pay for his actions, not the entire profession is all I am saying.

"In 2004, the FBI noticed a pattern the bodies of murdered women were being dumped along Interstate 40 in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi. The victims were mostly prostitutes and transients who hung out at truck stops. They were picked up, sexually assaulted, sometimes bound or mutilated, murdered and dumped on the side of the road. To help better connect suspects to victims, the FBI began a database of such victims and officially launched the Highway Serial Killings initiative in April 2009. The initiative helps conduct investigations between jurisdictions, which can be difficult to do, but is vital to solve cases in which the suspects travel hundreds of miles each day. Currently, the database contains over 500 victims and 200 suspects. Agents and Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) analysts work diligently to find answers in this tangled and sadly ever-growing web of highways, truck drivers and murder victims."

So, should we assume from the above information that many truck drivers "act in the same fashion" and that truck drivers "protect their own all the way to the grave"?

Of course not. That would be an unfair conclusion.

One more thing to consider. You can bet your last dollar that there is a camera in the hallway. What if the criminal was pushing or yelling in the hall, then they pushed her back into the holding cell? Maybe people would then say the criminal (which she is in the eyes of the law at this point)was becoming difficult or resisting. Maybe that's why the office shoved her back into the cell? Also
I personally am curious how some posters know for a fact how strong that officer was?

Only in the eyes of tyranny is someone deemed a criminal without trial. This clarifies your ideology of reason, Flawed!

Keep plugging your ears and yelling I'm right your dumb. I guess it's only your opinion that counts. I thought for a bit you weren't as bad as Neighbor, I admit I was wrong, you're a head case.

Appalled, excellent points. Spot on how Prof can condemn an entire profession because of publicized incidents. Maybe we should post how truck drivers kill thousands each year by poor and reckless driving, or on accidents where they are at fault. Should we be screaming that truck drivers need more than whatever "extensive" training they receive? Is there a class dedicated to not killing hookers and transients at University of Peterbilt Professor?
