The Venus Project
What we TRULY need

This is VERY interesting and I really hope to see it become our way of life in my lifetime:

1.What is The Venus Project?

Very briefly, The Venus Project is an organization that proposes a feasible plan of action for social change, a holistic global socio-economic system called a Resource Based Economy; that works toward a peaceful and sustainable global civilization. It outlines an alternative to strive toward where human rights are not only paper proclamations but also a way of life.

The Venus Project presents an alternative vision for a sustainable world civilization unlike any political, economic or social system that has gone before. It envisions a time in the near future when money, politics, self and national-interest have been phased out. Although this vision may seem idealistic, it is based upon years of study and experimental research. It spans the gamut from education, transportation, clean sources of energy to total city systems.

Many people believe what is needed is a higher sense of ethical standards and the enactment of international laws and treaties to assure a sustainable global society. Even if the most ethical people in the world were elected to political office, without sufficient resources we would still have many of the same problems we have today. As long as a few nations control most of the world's resources and profit is the bottom line, the same cycle of events will prevail.

As global challenges and scientific information proliferate, nations and people face common threats that transcend national boundaries. Overpopulation, energy shortages, global warming, environmental pollution, water scarcity, economic catastrophe, the spread of uncontrollable disease, and the technological displacement of people by machines threaten each of us. Although many people are dedicated to alleviating those conditions, our social and environmental problems will remain insurmountable as long as a few powerful nations and financial interests maintain control of and consume most of the world's resources and the monetary system prevails.

If we really wish to put an end to our ongoing international and social problems, we must declare Earth and all of its resources the common heritage of all of the world's people.
Earth is abundant and has plentiful resources. Our practice of rationing resources through monetary control is no longer relevant and is counter-productive to our survival. Today we have highly advanced technologies, but our social and economic system has not kept up with our technological capabilities. We could easily create a world of abundance for all, free of servitude and debt based on the carrying capacity of Earth resources. With the intelligent and humane application of science and technology, the people of the earth can guide and shape the future together while protecting the environment. We don't have enough money to accomplish these ends but we do have more than enough resources.

In your opinion, it is a cult. so what? So is the Tea Party then for that matter.

I really don't understand why the Tea Party so vehemently worships corporate fat cats and the super-wealthy. WHY do you want all of them in charge of everything?? Do you REALLY feel they have our (meaning all the NON super-wealthy people in this country) best interests at heart?

Umm who said the Tea Party worships fat cats and the super wealthy? Please provide some link for that assertion from an objective site. Second, who doesn't want to succeed. You want us all to join in some fanciful singing Kumbaya world? Sorry but socialism doesn't work and neither does its end game of communism. For an example of the wonders of socialism look no further than Europe. Especially France were this lunatic preaching this Venus Project is from as well as the other moron Thomas Piketty.

Who really cares what Bill Gates or Warren Buffet think. I certainly don't. It is my responsibility to make it in this world. Mine and mine alone unlike some of those on the left that feel they are entitled to cradle to grave programs. My advice stop worrying about what the rich are doing pay attention locally to things around you.

Nowhere does it say that the Venus Project is socialism, communism, etc. Right away you jump to conclusions just because there are people that believe we could all have a better quality of life without worship of and being a slave to, the almighty dollar. Where's that tolerance you regularly spout off about??

You have stated that you are a member of the Tea Party and you ALWAYS, almost immediately post against anything posted that puts wall street, the banking industry, insurance companies, corporations, wealthy fat-cats, etc. in a negative light. It's like you feel a need to come to their defense right away. Seems like worship.

The same could go for you......stop worrying about what those that need help are doing and go about your own business. Not everyone that isn't a member of the Tea Party is looking for handouts. Not everyone on welfare is lazy and doesn't want to work, hell, many on welfare ARE working, full-time, but not paid enough to survive or take care of a family. Oh and you don't think there's ANY republicans, conservatives nor tea-party members on welfare or receiving any sort of hand-out? Site some sources for THAT, please.

Also, You say you don't name-call, yet you do, You refer to any source/quote that is NOT of Tea Party/Conservative as lunatic, ridiculous, etc. Sorry, but Glen Beck is a lunatic. Sarah Palin has the intelligence level of a chunk of concrete, the list goes on and on. The Tea Party has had WAY too many loudmouth idiot representatives in the media showing their party's true colors.

the Venus project doesn't need to say it's communism,
the propagandists way it to take communism and sell it so outwardly is doesn't seem like communism, but it is.

When the word sustain, sustainable, or sustainability is used you can bet it has something to do with the likes of "Agenda 21".

Language its all about the language, when the message becomes muddled or stale change the language. Global warming becomes climate change, climate change climate disruption. This gentleman did a great job of deciphering the language http://neiltokar.blogspot.com/2011/02/blog-9-...

Why Financial responsible people get labeled as Tea Party supporters? I have the gene make up that says be finically responsible. The Redistributionist Liberal leaning agenda, has been for decades, to Force regulation down the throats of business and entrepreneurs. At some point they went to far. We are the only country in the world that debilitates its businesses to the point where they finally pack up and move away. All the tree hugging liberals forget that the corporate world supplements their agenda and has for decades. Liberalistic and Socialist policies are the main reason there are no manufacturing no jobs left. These are exactly the people responsible for the increase in costs and job loses. EVERYONE knows that Nuclear generation of electricity is the most efficient and cleanest power we can get. But the Prez and his clown posse want more restrictions. Bye Bye Business, Hello in creased cost of goods so we can prop up the DC insiders. You have no one to blame but yourselves and 40 years of socialistic liberal policies.

I'm surprised that so many people are against this and/or call it communism, ESPECIALLY those that are so "anti-government"... ..

A U.S. organization is hoping a plan to create cities which float on the ocean will see them not only produce their own food but establish their own governments:
