Okay, here is what our thinking on voting in turner is. Electing Turner get him off of the council. Where if he loses he will be for 2 more years for sure. If elected mayor he has a 4 year term, and since there is so little going on in town now with the economy, and with this state's budget crisis, no business is looking to move to Illinois, much less Lockport, Illinois.

Many people do not realize that the mayor has very little power. He doesn't even vote, unless there is a tie on the council. Turner is more of a troublemaker as an alderman with his "majority". Let him have his turn at mayor and after 4 years run a candidate that will beat him, and he can go away. He will never go away as an alderman, he will keep running and running and running it is endless! Pull the weed, give him his turn and be done with him once and for all. If steve streit wants to be involved he should be on the council first so he can even learn how a meeting runs and what needs to happen, he really has no clue what he would be in for. The mayor is not KING anyway, it is not the ALL Powerful position many people think it is. PULL THE WEED.
VOTE FOR KELLY TURNER.

The fact that he hasn't held office is a MAJOR plus in my book. We don' want these same retread politicians who aren't doing any good for our town.

We have a president who essentially went from community organizer to senator to president. Whether you like him or not the American people thought this was acceptable. We are now talking about mayor of a small town. You don't need 20 years of government experience and I really dont even want anyone with government experience.

You are right about one thing, there is nothing going on here in Lockport. The blame for that lies squarely on the hunched shoulders of the losers currently running this backwater holler.

I see growth everywhere else from development in neighboring towns to the stock market and real estate market to name a few areas. Businesses are hiring again, giving out raises and 401K matches again. ABT purchased a huge tract of land next to the Promenade in Bolingbrook to expand South and the third phase of the Promenade will break ground soon. Dayton Freight and Old Dominion Freight are opening huge brand new terminals in Crest Hill off of Division and Weber. You know this towns leadership sucks when Lockport has to take a back seat to Crest Hill(no offense to our neighbors there). Meanwhile here in Lockport we have burned down buildings and vacent Pizza Huts dotting our landscape. I won't be voting for more of that.

Mr. Turner has abused his position of 2nd ward alderman from the day he was elected. Instead of representing the citizens who put him in office, he has consistently used his position as alderman to further his own personal interests. His track record for the past two years as alderman is an abomination and it is clear that his priorities won't be changing if he becomes the mayor.

I am of the opinion that it would be beneficial for Lockport to vote the whole lot of them out. Vote against every incumbent. Fresh faces and fresh ideas is what this city needs. I'm not saying Streit would be any better than Turner, but I would concur with the above comment that he has not held office is a plus.

Those women are with Turner, his picks. We will have the same situation with him, Neitzke, Tom Kelly, Heitzleman, and one of the pontificate's choices. No...to that. Tom and Dickie have to go but Neitzke and Heitzleman can't get in. Go with the men that are running, they are not associated with the pontificate. They are having a fund raiser together and that is enough for me. If Turner gets in, my house is for sale immediately. I cannot and will not continue to go to other towns for enjoyment, shopping and dining. The other towns are wonderful compared to Lockport. I am voting Smith, Steve for Mayor, Justin Vandeermeer, Kris Capadona. It is time to get going. With his people, even if Steve wins he will argue and scream with the council. We need to restore dignity and respect to our town. Elect Steve! Come to the town hall! If you want development, vote Steve!
