FLASH!!! IT HAS NOT PROGRESSED AT ALL. LOOK AROUND AND YOU WILL SEE FOR YOURSELF. WE NEED TO THINK BEFORE OUR VOTE THIS TIME. IF YOU WANT THE OLD WATER BILL SCHEME THEN YOU CAN HAVE THEM. OTHERWISE IF YOU WANT PROGRESS VOTE FOR PEOPLE THAT WILL TELL YOU WHAT THEY PLAN ON DOING, NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT THE OTHER GUY. TALK ABOUT THEMSELVES FOR A CHANGE.This town needs a revitalization. It needs new people to run it like Mayor Streit. Vote for Jason Vandermeer .The other candidates that have run the town in the ground,,,do not vote for! I will tell you right now that to vote for the two old guys is ridiculous. Darren Deskin has spoken up and I think he will work to make the town develop. If a person is a gentleman than he is also a good candidate. You have to be able to listen to the people and not make fun of them. Those women have proven already to me they are poor candidates for the offices. They were out campaigning for Kelly. To me, that is wrong. They will vote with him and not be independent. We do not want that...we want people who are running independently or if they are on a slate...say so, don't lie to the people. Tell us the vision for the future. Our downtown can be fixed. Look at all the money that has been wasted on studies almost a million dollars these past few years. Look what that would do for us. Kelly and his gang have stopped development. We want development, restaurants, stores, etc. We will be the same four years from now if you vote in the same slate. Can we have some different people and not THESE RUN AGAIN, RUN AGAIN, RUN AGAIN, PEOPLE. GIVE US A BREAK AND ELECT JASON, STEVE STREIT, DARREN, BRIAN SMITH AND ALL THE ONES THAT HAVE A VISION AND WILL TELL YOU, YES TELL YOU THE REASONS THEY ARE RUNNING TO HELP OUR TOWN. ASK HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT HAVING ANOTHER LAWYER AND EXTRA TAXPAYER MONEY TO PAY FOR THEM, ASK ABOUT NO BID CONTRACTS, ASK ABOUT PAYING FRIENDS THE TAXPAYER'S HARD EARNED DOLLARS,ASK WHY ALL THE QUALIFIED STAFF HAVE QUIT OR BEEN PUSHED OUT, AND ASK ABOUT DEVLOPMENT AND FIXING THE OLD TOWN UP. WE NEED VISION!
And Pete will make Steve

Raise our taxes on every single issue Pete sees.

All the other towns get loads of development and retail without taxing their citizens to death, or as Pete may better understand $117k in debt.

Turner is by no means the ideal choice, but he's better than our taxes shooting up to do little more than bail out the chumps in the chamber. Hey! Chamber Chumps! They could get that on shirts for all of them. I'll take Turner over this wanna be people.

The word vision is very important. Some how people with little vision such as Turner, Tom Kelly, Van Dyke and Marynowski have been able to lie their way into office over the last 4 years. Look at their accomplishments! This is the example of "no vision". There are mayors of surrounding cities namely Romeoville and New Lenox waiting for Turner to be elected. They see Lockport going bankrupt with his election. They are waiting to divide up the spoils through annexation of a city unable to sustain itself. This may seem unimaginable but with people like Turner, Tom, Dick and Mary it is very possible. Go ask those mayors and the people in these towns what they think of our city government.

Even if Lockport went bankrupt (which it very probably would with Pete, oh sorry, Steve, as mayor), no other town could "divide the spoils" of Lockport, and you know it. Lockport is a city. No leaders of surrounding communities could hatch a plan to divvie it up. Worst case it gets like Ford Heights (If Pete, oh, I mean Steve, gets in charge) the state would take over.

You're simply using scare tactics to advance your plan for personal control, Pete. The current council isn't what's holding back this town. It's the incestuous and greedy relationship that is part and parcel of what has kept Lockport behind all of its neighbors. The relationship between the old school Irish, Italians, and Polish think they are owed a free ride, and they don't want to give any developers an inch on tax breaks or anything similar because they know it would lead to them losing their grip on this miserable little hellhole, and then they would have to look for jobs based on their own merit. And no one would hire them because they aren't worth a dime. Look at the LTFPD. Inbred idiots, every one of them (and they know it).

Lockport won't advance for at least a hundred years because of the lazy people who are "in charge." They don't want any changes because it would put them out of their jobs.

Scare tactics? Isn't that what the majority has been doing the past two years? Additionally, it has been in the last two years that the developers have been having the problems. Yes I realize that the economy had a great deal to do with the situation; however, there was development prior to that in Lockport and after in surrounding communities. I just need to point towards Wal-Mart Jewel, Aldi, etc. Old school Irish, Italian, Polish want something for nothing? Hmm stereotype much? LTFPD? Sounds to me like someone is a little miffed they were not hired. Let me guess didn't pass the psych test and the commission wouldn't tell you the reason?

People of this town be careful: This has to be one of the majority slate writing this. It is the worst thing people of this town should read. It is exactly what you get when you vote these old school, old style, stale, enept people in to our city government. This is exactly what they think..and they call it a hellhole. No wonder it has gone nowhere, Kelly. You have brought this town down and this time we are not going to let you do it. You call the fire dept. names. I say that the fire dept. is a wonderful organization except for the guy who is double dipping and a relative of Piazzza. You are writing this or one of your puppets. Yes, it is the majority slate, which they are trying to get again, in charge, who are doing a big fat nothing for this town. Go Mayor Streit to be and the old old old wannabee stay ons OUT!! WE NEED LEADERSHIP, NOT THIS TYPE OF CHUMPS IN THERE, AND QUIT IT WITH PETE, KELLY. YOU ARE SO OBVIOUS YOU STINK!! WE ARE NOT FALLING FOR YOUR RECRUITS AND YOUR LIES THIS TIME AROUND! WATCH!THE TAXPAYERS PAY THE BILLS, NOT YOU AND YOUR CHOICES HAVE STUNK! AND BY THE WAY, GO CHAMBER, YOU FELL BEHIND BUT YOU ARE A GREAT ORGANIZATION ALTHOUGH YOU HAVE A CREEP TRYING TO WRECK YOUR ORGANIZATION! WE ARE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT BEHIND YOU! GET OUT THE VOTE FOR THE RIGHT ONES! HAVE DEVELOPMENT COME TO LOCKPORT LIKE THE SURROUNDING TOWNS! THE SURVEY SHOWED PEOPLE WANT IT! THIS GROUP WILL CONTINUE THE WAY THEY HAVE AND LET PROFESSIOALS WRITE THE BUDGET NEXT TIME! IT IS NOT KELLYS BUDGET IT IS OUR BUDGET!

By the way, how many people actually know the difference between a fire protection district and a municipal fire department? For those that don't the City of Lockport does not have its own fire department. The city is served by two districts Lockport and Homer Township. Both are their own taxing bodies and have nothing to do with the city with respect to taxing.

It has not progressed at all. It is sitting here and they are making one excuse after another. Let's get on the ball, Lockport, and decide to go with the new gentlemen that are forthright and supportive of the residents. The town troll, or the headmaster as he thinks he is, will be on here with a name he stole or a new name and an insult! I am insulted that this town is not going anywhere. That lazy stale slate has made it a craphole. We need to move! Vote Steve Strait and Jason Vandermeer, and vote his boys, sleepy and forked tongue, out! Mary will go at the next election! And Kelly will go at the next election, oh but he will run again, never stop, only lose Kelly! He has lost how many? I have stopped counting, how about you? Residents, talk to them personally, each and every one of them! You will know how to vote if you listen carefully to whom you are talking to and what they really say! If they can't site any development out the door they go!

I have a question on Lockport PD and the use of th ese seat belt checkpoints. Is this a attempt to regain the revenue lost by the removal of red light cameras? Our "City of Historic Pride" has now been reduced to the likes of Indian Head Park and Hazard County Kentucky writing $25.00 ordinance violations. They may as well stand out on the corners and ask for donations like Lockport Baseball or the Lyons Club. Morale on that Department must be at a all time low having to run these embarrassing operations. Lockport had always been a small department that you could still have pride in. They are hard to admire in their present mold. Who is responsible? Because they really need some oversight in the future before they come up with another shortsighted idea. Pursuit of public safety is a noble idea, but these operations are just a grab for revenue and that is not what real law enforcement agencies exist for.

In actuality those check points are more of a DUI check point. Seatbelt enforcement is a primary offense now and the cops used that as the reason to pull people over to check for DUI and insurance.

I think these are from IDOT grant money and must be done according to their rules so it's not up to the city except to provide the manpower. I might be wrong but I remeber one of the chiefs talking about it.

What else do they have to do? Oh that's right they have two squads direct traffic at the train station every week night and sit at Starbucks and shoot the shite while drinking coffee during the day.

Didn't Turner declare bankruptcy in 1996 and then double his salary as an alderman to cover his debts?

Is it true that his own mother was a creditor and he declared Chapter 7 so he wouldn't have to pay her back?

Our hero did in fact file bankruptcy, the same guy who says on his post card "he knows what it's its like to run on a budget and live within available funds" (and then file bankruptcy). I enjoy the switching between first person and second person on these homemade flyers he passes out. "I will blah blah blah...and Kelly Frank and Bean Turner will blah blah blah.

Truth is the little, greasy comb-over is broke and has no work. Is he unemployed or out of job...I say both. I asked him what he did for work and who his customers were and he went on to talk about the water bills. It took me four phone calls and two visits to his home to track him down. I guess he was busy walking the neighborhoods...NOT.

The worst part about the bankruptcy was that he included his poor mother Bee...Bee Turner. Poor Beatrice. What kind of person bankrupts their elderly mother to run for office 10 times and wins only 2 contested elections? Really Turner isn't time to hang up the hairpiece and let it go?

I just was thinking the same thing when I went to the bank today. It is disgusting. I applaud the schools which have old glory top and center. The businesses that put our flag in the mud are disgraceful. The other flags on rt. 7 make it look like a carnival town and with this bunch that is running it,,,that is just what it is. No development and it needs cleaning up...bad. Enough of these old cronies running a city like it is horse and buggy days. It is time for a change...MAYRO STREIT.....JASON V.....KRIS CAPADONA....BRIAN SMITH SHOULD STAY AS HE WORKS HARD AND IS RESPECTFUL AND WILL WORK FOR THE CITIZENS OF LOCKPORT. LET'S GO LOCKPORT, SHOW WHAT OUR FOREFATHERS WANTED...TRUTH AND HONESTY AND MOST OF ALL, TRANSPARENCY. NO BID CONTRACTS AND THEIR OWN LAWYERS GO OUT THE WINDOW! YOUR MONEY STAYS AS DEVELOPMENT COMES.
