How unusual for political games to have been played. I am shocked.
Sorry your not getting off that easy from me. You speak of "integrity" or lack thereof by a candidate who made a clerical mistake. One that the courts have ruled was not substantial enough to warrant removal from the ballot.
However for the candidate you obviously support you speak of it being done uner the guise of "politics". Which situation stinks more of unethical behavior or lack of integrity. Please even you cant try and pull this one off. The attorney stated that this should not be even considered. There was more than enough past case precedence to show that she would be returned to the ballot. But that information was completely disregarded by one candidate who sat in judgement of another. Even though there is a strong possibility that she may have been the one behind the filing of the objection. Call it integrity, ethics whatever you like, I wouldnt go banging that drum for your candidate at this point.

Both are responsible, and then the "president" of the school board adds fuel to the fire by turning it into more of a circus with the press and the rest of the board members. Very much like the actions of the "pension king."

They all love to add "fuel on the fire" so the public looses sight of their taxes going up for NO reason.

You are all correct in one way or another, well at least posts 204-213 are. The United States poster that has some kind of vendetta needs to STFU. Don't worry, Sue Smith has support in this community and hopefully your little smear campaign won't be successful and cost her re-election. Some of us care where our hard earned money goes, in the classroom instead of the pockets of the greedy.

Factually, it was 1 bad petition. How can they claim it is a good petition? Talk about dirty politics.... Kathy needs to hold her head down in shame.
Kathy can continue to hold her head high. She made minor clerical mistakes just like half of the posts on here. How is that dirty politics? You people are paranoid. Maureen looks like such a fool. Isn't it funny how Nicki knew exactly who to call when the anonymous paper ended up in her mailbox? Sue and Maureen really should be kicked off the board for their conduct. Thank you to the other board members for volunteering their time to this community and for putting up with situations like this one.

Kathy will hold her head high because she has no shame. Her voting record is abysmal - her shenanigans she instigated earlier about Maureen which cost this district a lot were an embarrassment as well. She is a political shill.

Hold On, you can keep spinning it the way you want it. The candidate made a lazy mistake by not getting enough petitions signed as a logical safe guard. The candidate made a second lazy mistake by not validating her petitions. Then the candidate gets caught up in rules & regulations she thinks is unfair. We all get that Hold On. But the candidate had more than one opportunity to prevent all this is my point. Then does the political battle to keep the prize by blaming everyone but herself. As far as Broderick goes, I think & bet you would have challenged this too.

What is it with these local boards around here? I'm tired of reading about the Grade School Board & Fire Protection Board. Why can't these people just get along. Washington has nothing on New Lenox!

I am not spinning anything. I dont know either and dont care about either. I admonished Cathy Miller in post for not doing enough to make sure this did not happen. Its you who after calling her out for a lack of integrity, refuses to acknowledge the lack of integrity on the candidate you would obviously endorse. If Broderick wanted to challenge Millers petition she should have done so. Getting someone else to sign your challenge so that you can sit on the jury, big time unethical and reeking of a lack of integrity. But as usual you spin it, and as always you refuse to see it anyway but your own. Typical Neighbor.

Neighbor I notice also that you did not comment about the huge red flag. The board had their legal counsel at this mess. Legal counsel advised that there was more than enough past case legal precedence that the candidate would be put back on the ballot. But that advice was ignored and the challenge pushed into the courts anyway. Now as warned by the legal counsel, the judge has put her back on the ballot. Who pushed this mess into the courts, well it sure wasnt the remainder of the board. Who failed to listen to legal counsel that we as the taxpayers are footing the bill for. Please tell me how you can ignore that. Its wrong any way you try and slice it. Remember the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I understand your support of Broderick and agree that Miller should have covered her butt with more signatures in the event of a clerical error. She does need to take responsibility and suffer consequences for this oversight.

Unlike you though, I have a hard time ignoring the malicious intent involved in this single situation. This school board has been rife with malicious intent for many years and from both sides. It is way past time for a new administrative leader and I do not mean Manville. It needs to be a name that nobody knows and someone with no prior connection to NL.

I realize that Manville has been locked into the job by her contract, which in and of itself is one of the stupidest things the board ever agreed to. I used to think that NL was stuck but now I'm thinking maybe NL needs to pay the penalty to get out of this hole.

Both sides need to realize that a lot of damage has been done and it is time to start looking for a healer.

Good summary, Appalled. As a community we need an honest, fresh start without political baggage or past influences of any kind.

The judge that heard Kathy Miller's case is a big time democrat born and raised in the LW area. How is that fair? Shouldn't have an independent heard her case? I can't see how a democrat judge would rule against a democrat candidate. Kathy Miller should have gotten off of her lazy butt and gotten more signatures. Just what we need, a Sass butt kisser who does the bare minimum. One has to wonder with that judge being from this area does he know any of the people involved personally? It's a small town and a fair question. JMO

Just because Kathy is running unopposed doesn't mean you have to vote for her. Of course she is going to win but by not voting you will be sending this board a message. As far as the other incumbents go, I'm only voting for Sue Smith because she is the only one who questions the administrators. The new candidates running will have to earn my vote. If they are just like the majority on the board I'll only be voting for one candidate, Smith.

She was an ass kisser at Providence in the 70's. She hasn't changed. She always acted as an elitist. She was too lazy to get enough signatures and therefore should be toast. It would be interesting to see where the judge gets his insurance. Lol

Miller was put back on the ballot by a partisan Democrat Judge because she was represented by the current head of the Will County Democrat Party. Now, DiSandro, in coordination with Sass, is trying to bully her in to resigning, like Sass and Brouwer did four years ago. All of this is because she and Smith won't go along with the scam. Sass keeps control of the teachers by jacking up their salaries in the last few years before retirement long as they cooperate with him. That's why he has the teacher's union in his hip pocket and they will show up in droves at board meetings to back him up on a moment's notice. They are all part of the Mayor's plan to stack the board to appoint him Superintendent as soon as Manville leaves. The taxpayers are left with the bill.
