Perhaps the problem is this chick is getting what she pays for as far as employees. A friend of mine worked there briefly as a washer for what amounted to 4-5.00 an hour. She showed me her check and we were actually laughing, it was so pitiful... except there are peeps still working there for this pittance. She didn't even throw in the 10.00 for the dogs she washed on her own the first day whilst under "training". She pays 5.00 per dog for her washers, however they are limited to breaks and are expected to wash windows and pick up after the dog accidents as well, as if it were a "real" job. We assume she is able to skirt the minimum wage laws by paying per dog, but it certainly isn't ethical. Would it be too much for her and the groomers to at least pitch in 5 each (rather than 2.50) per dog for those shampooers who work harder than any of them. They also don't share tips. Next time you are in there, perhaps give your tip to the washers. No wonder she can't keep the help, it's not the hard work, it's the lack of pay for the hard work. So not cool.

Boarding facility? Don't you mean your basement. I wonder if your 1700 clients are aware that you do not use shampoo on their pets but cheap dollar store dish soap.

They made our old dog look like a young pup! He hasn't looked so smooth and shiny in a long time. Excellent service and price!

I have talked to 3 different people whose dogs got horrible skin infections at this place, and the groomer sends us to the same vet who tells us it's ringworm. They gave the dogs razor burn, which caused the infection. She initially told us it was and allergy which the dog never had, especially in the winter. They refuse to pay and don't care how sick the dog gets. I'm sure all of these people are driving 50 miles to this from shop if you read some of these reviews.

Took my dog there to get his nails trimmed. WOW! Was this place a disaster! They had mounds and mounds of dog hair all over the place blowing around when the door opened, it was disgusting, and two big mop buckets out in the open with black mop juice ready for a dog to stop and take a gulp out of.

They had like 6 or 7 dogs in cages in the open space all barking at each other and one of the dogs on the second row of cages (they were stacked) pee'd on two of the dogs below it! And they didn't do anything about it except all the girls looked at each other and said "oh I think it'll be ok".

The $5 nail trim is fine and I can't speak to the level of grooming they provide but my dog is absolutely freaked out by the chaos that was going on in that place. Needs a new manager or something because it wasnt well maintained or organized at all from what I saw on my first impression.

If someone were to ask instead of judging.We wash walls and deep clean the shop three times weekly.I am sorry if you came in when that was taking place.This is due to the fact that we do not want your pet to come into a shop that smells like dog and pee.We strive for the well being of your pet.If there was hair on the floor,common in any grooming salon,except you can't see that as most salons have things behind closed doors,we like the open concept.
Our level of grooming should not be judged by the amount of hair on the floor(I would think that would be a good sign)but the care we show towards your best friend,I think your dog should be fixed as well.Male dogs are very high strung and remember,This month is spay and neuter month,Have a nice day,

Dog hair on the floor,dogs barking and the shop being cleaned.How unheard of for a grooming salon...Obviously you have never been inside of a busy shop.very normal for all of this to be taking place.

So, do you leave a tip? You should always tip a groomer!

I would imagine that most people who are employed by grooming shops touch the dogs.I can't believe that you took time out of your day to post this silly comment.How did Grateful Dog fgroom your dog without touching it?

Lol so true
I am reading these reviews to start takin my dog there and some really scared me but some are just ridiculous. I mean come on be realistic people it will not be spotless when there are a group of dogs ( who hate to taking baths ) being taken Care of! Be a little more understanding! I will be taking my dog there later today and I look forward to dog hairs on the floor and them touching my dog (;

She didn't say touched . She said 3 girls came up right away to pet the dog. A business who's job it is to take care of dogs should know you do not pet a service dog while it is working. Maybe the vest on the dog should have clued them in. Once the dog is given over to the shop for a hair cut and the person needing the service dog has someone to look after them, then you can pet the dog.

As the owner of this salon,I know my shop does not smell,it is cleaned on a daily basis.I am sure the person on the phone was taking an appointment and did not intentionally ignore you.And if you noticed,,,there is a 3 foot gate on the back door and ALL dogs are leashed...I think you were in the wrong shop!

I little clarity for you WOW. When a service dog has his vest on it is a WORKING DOG. It is not to be petted, called, given treats etc. Except by the owner of the dog. The big patch that says "DO NOT PET" should have been clear enough. Once a service dogs vest comes off at the end of the day, it can be treated like a regular dog.

You posted on a later comment that the shop is deep cleaned daily. So which is it three times a week or daily? You should get your stuff together.

How about washing your dog and cutting it's nails at home by yourself? That way you have nobody to blame but yourself. If not then pay them to do your dirty work and quit complaining.
