It's sad that people don't know when they are being taken advantage of and made fools out of.

No they shouldn't. Are you too clueless to pay attention? There have been 10 hearings on Benghazi so far. That is 10 more than on all the other embassy attacks under the Bush administration combined. There is no Benghazi scandal. This whole thing is a manufactured attempt by Republicans to attack the current administration. Of course hyper partisan Republicans like you and the Professor eat it up. You are a Republican first and an American second. Now that's what is really sad.
I do not consider myself a hyper partisan Republican and I do respect your right to an opinion, but here is mine.

These hearings are not being held to discuss an embassy attack. They are being held to discuss the RESPONSE to an embassy attack. If you want to compare other embassy attacks then you need to compare the RESPONSE by the administrations involved, not the attacks themselves which is what you are trying to do.

I do not care if you are a dem or republican, if diplomatic Americans call for help, the "American First" response should not be "stand down". That is inexcusable if you are truly on the American side.

My heart breaks for the families of these diplomats who have to live with the information that when their loved ones needed help, America let them down. For 24 hours these people waited for the cavalry to arrive. They never came. That is not the America I know and love.

I am an American with questions. I say the hearings are necessary.

I explained that to these guys several times on this same tread if you go back and look Appalled. They just ignore the truth and facts. It don't fit their mold of who they believe Obama is and what this administration is about!

When they can't explain it, and they can't accept it, they attack it!

I call B.S. on your claim that you are not hyper partisan. You've been called out before on your double standard when it comes to immigration. Remember your hero Ronald Reagan's actions on illegal immigration were far more liberal than anything Barack Obama has done. Meanwhile, there have already been 10 hearings. You saw the very long list of embassy attacks that occurred under the Bush administration. Do you want to tell us all how many hearings we had on those attacks? Where are your questions about the dead Americans and their families about the response then? You and the rest of the Republicans don't give it a thought because to Republicans and their outlet Fox News it doesn't matter. Benghazi is a manufactured scandal. You want to blame the President and his administration for wrong doing. You will of course ignore the fact that a Republican lead Congress voted to cut funding for security at all embassies; but hey, it's always Obama's fault. When you, Neighbor, and the Professor start holding Republican administrations to the same standards you hold Democrat administrations then maybe your opinion will not be disregarded by others. Until then, you get get to sit in the Republican short bus with Neighbor and the Professor; at least on this issue. Don't worry, they bus driver will let you off when the topic turns to pensions and benefits for public employees.

LOL. I call B.S. on your B.S.

How can a pro-choice, pension protector who blames all recent past administrations for the immigration predicament be a hyper-partisan Republican? Your assessment of me makes no sense at all.

I may lean right, but I am not afraid to part ways with any one party if I do not agree. Just like I am not afraid to ask questions regarding the Benghazi incident. Quite frankly, I do not understand why anyone would be against any hearings for any reason. If there is nothing to hide, then why not stand up and prove it.

If you think any of the responses to any of the attacks under any other administration were seriously inappropriate, then I would support hearings on them as well.

You rush to put me in the same category as Professor and Neighbor. I would say that you are more like them than me when it comes to being hyper-partisan. You seem to think the short bus is full of only republicans. I think it is full of people from both sides who pretend to argue policy when all they are really arguing is party.

My views on Benghazi are not republican in nature. They are American. From the first reports, I felt something was not right and I didn't need anyone with an R or a D after their name to tell me that. What I need is some answers and the truth. I have the right to that but more importantly the families who lost loved ones have a right to know exactly what happened.

I welcome the hearings along with eye witness reports to lead us to the truth, wherever it lands. How can any American argue that?

There have been 10 hearings on Benghazi so far. Let me tell you the count again; the number is 10. I will now list the embassy attacks that occurred under the previous administration in which there were zero hearings and no outraged Republicans. That includes you. You require no answers for the victims and their families from the attacks on this list. Fox News didn't cover them the way they cover Benghazi. Funny how you didn't mention getting the "feeling that something wasn't right" on any of the previous attacks. Benghazi is different though. It doesn't take a genius to know why.
The Benghazi attacks (the consulate and the CIA compound) are absolutely not unprecedented even though they’re being treated that way by Republicans who are deliberately ignoring anything that happened prior to Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009.
January 22, 2002. Calcutta, India. Gunmen associated with Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami attack the U.S. Consulate. Five people are killed.
June 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan. Suicide bomber connected with al-Qaida attacks the U.S. Consulate, killing 12 and injuring 51.
October 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic offices bombed as part of a string of “Bali Bombings.” No fatalities.
February 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan. Several gunmen fire upon the U.S. Embassy. Two people are killed.
May 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Armed al-Qaida terrorists storm the diplomatic compound killing 36 people including nine Americans. The assailants committed suicide by detonating a truck bomb.
July 30, 2004. Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A suicide bomber from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan attacks the U.S. Embassy, killing two people.
December 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al-Qaida terrorists storm the U.S. Consulate and occupy the perimeter wall. Nine people are killed.
March 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again. Suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate killing four people, including U.S. diplomat David Foy who was directly targeted by the attackers.(I wonder if Lindsey Graham or Fox News would even recognize the name “David Foy.”This is the third Karachi terrorist attack in four years on what’s considered American soil.)
September 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria. Four armed gunmen shouting “Allahu akbar” storm the U.S. Embassy using grenades, automatic weapons, a car bomb and a truck bomb. Four people are killed, 13 are wounded.
January 12, 2007. Athens, Greece. Members of a Greek terrorist group called the Revolutionary Struggle fire a rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy. No fatalities.
March 18, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen. Members of the al-Qaida-linked Islamic Jihad of Yemen fire a mortar at the U.S. Embassy. The shot misses the embassy, but hits nearby school killing two.
July 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey. Four armed terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate. Six people are killed.
September 17, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen.Terrorists dressed as military officials attack the U.S. Embassy with an arsenal of weapons including RPGs and detonate two car bombs. Sixteen people are killed, including an American student and her husband (they had been married for three weeks when the attack occurred). This is the second attack on this embassy in seven months.

The Zero administration did nothing to help the people being attacked. That is un American. You come to the aid of your countrymen until the battle is over. Then you ask questions in regard to what happened and why. To not send help is treason, plain and simple. Especially when it has been proven the people at State knew there was an attack, not a demonstration in real time and had assets in the area that could have thwarted the attack. Zero went to bed that night not knowing or caring what was happening. I want to know why. So far there has been nothing but cover up and obfuscation. This administration is shameless.
As usual Appalled, you hit the nail directly on the head. Your past posts prove you call them as you see them, no matter what letter follows the name.

Lots of numbers that have nothing to do with what happened on that specific day in Benghazi and the immediate days that followed. Your "he did it too" defense is childishly deflective and will not serve the truth, which should be what both sides are seeking.

I understand that you feel your man is not being treated in the same way as the last guy. Maybe not, but that shouldn't stop us from seeking the truth. What are you so afraid of? If there is nothing to hide, how can the hearings hurt?

Solomon, remember that Appalled is our self-proclaimed Queen, and nothing she say's is incorrect nor need be validated. So she say'eth, so say it is. Simply bow and ask for forgiveness.

However, in your case, you continue to compare apples & oranges. No one but you are comparing embassy attacks. The focus of this thread is on the deceitful lies told by Obama's administration about this particular attack. The failure to provide assistance, and lies they tell there. The shameful act of Obama & Hillary looking the family members in the eye, and telling them the attack was based upon a video. Come on Solomon, you cannot defend Obama & Hillary on this one and be an honorable person at the same time. Plus, no one is telling where our Commander In Chief was during the 7 hour long attack. Surely that is begging to be answered as well....

Whoops, your passive aggressive anger is showing. I never proclaimed myself Queen. You proclaimed me Queen.....right after you got busted cheating. You are sure one fine example of someone who can dish it out but cannot take it. Now bow, accept that you made a bad choice and someone called you on it, play fair and move on.

As I said before, when you start holding Republican administrations to the same standards you expect from the Obama administration I might actually give credence to your opinion. Until that time I find it "appalling" you don't have a single question about any of the MULTIPLE embassy attacks that occurred during the Bush administration. Apparently they were all handled perfectly. You seem unconcerned about seeking the "truth" in any of those cases. I guess you were less "American" during the last administration. In your view no questions needed to be asked. But Benghazi occurred under Obama; so of course it is far worse. So now questions need to answered. 10 hearings so far. That's right, 10 hearings. Despite multiple Republican accusations being debunked, they will keep going until they find one that might stick. Do you actually believe the hearings are not politically motivated? While you are on the Republican short bus with Neighbor and the Professor you might discuss the Republicans responsible for budget cuts to embassy security before the Benghazi attack. Who am I kidding. That won't even be mentioned. You don't even know about them because Fox News doesn't mention it. If you and the other Republicans really wanted answers we could have a hearing on that. But it doesn't really matter does it? It's always Obama's fault.

Solomon, if you ant to discuss the history of American embassy attacks, start a thread.

This thread is focused on the lies, cover-up, and mistakes made in the Bangazi embassy attack.

Are you trying to tells that the lies, cover-up, and witness threats are acceptable to you? Is that the picture you're trying to paint?

You are very good at putting words in other people's mouths. You also think you have the authority to express other people's opinions and define their lives without even really knowing them. I remember you now from the immigration and public worker debates.

Your finger pointing "he did it too" excuse didn't work with your mother and it doesn't work with me. Did this administration act accordingly and appropriately in this incident? That is the question on the table now. If they did, so be it. If they didn't they should be held accountable as should all politicians who make the same mistake. You can stomp your feet and swear that I do not mean that all you want, but I do. You act as though I have the personal authority to conduct these hearings. Believe me, if I did, you would be complaining about a whole lot more of them.

I hold all politicians, immigrants, citizens, races, genders and Americans to the same standards. It is the starting point of most of my opinions. Obviously, you do not know me as well as you think you do.

You really need to stop defining other people and speaking for them. Try arguing your own points and quit making up mine. You look foolish.
