Doyle gets another shot to run this town into the ground. Great, just f***ing great. I think this has officially become an us vs. them with the old Manhattanites vs. the new. How very sad.

All right, Doylie. Consider this your shot at redemption. Get it right this time.

Indifference and confusion were the deciding factors for Doyle. Somewhat lower than usual voter turnout and the confusion (of hope) brought on by Andrieasen's candidacy. A fool and his money are soon parted...and a fool and his vote are also soon thumped.

Actually only 16% of REGISTERED votes even bothered in the entire county. It's good though, it just means we will not have any changes to our great town. It will stay nice and quiet. No doors from businesses slamming all the time because there will be none here. Maybe these darn city slickers will go back to where they done come from and we can take down that stop light and go back to pickin and singin. We miss the days of cousin lovin!

True story. In the late summer of 2004, when the town was more wide open and there were way fewer houses to absorb sound, there was a festival event of some sort in the middle of town that was easily heard. A live band was playing and you could clearly hear the music. When the band took a break, the singer got on the microphone and called all interesed wife-swapperz over to the hot dog stand. I recall exactly that he said, "anyone interested in wif-swapping, me us at the hot dog stand". I just fell out of my lawn chair with laughter. Doyle was mayor then. Borgo won in spring 2005 and I am, now left wondering if we will all be revisting those kind of days.
