Gov. Pat Quinn, Senate President John Cullerton and Mayor Rahm Emanuel said today they will push the state legislature to once again try to pass a measure creating a special driver's license for illegal immigrants.

Seriously?!?! Do they really think someone who is in our country ILLEGALLY will stroll into the DMV to be photographed and tested? Then that same person will now go get auto insurance?!?!?

Why are we even contemplating giving a pass to people who are provided police and fire protection, and access to other public domain, but pay ZERO taxes.

Write Representative Tom Cross and tell him this does not have your support. http://www.tomcross.com/contact/

Illinois has budget problems up the ying-yang and John Cullerton is pushing for this measure which makes asolutely NO SENSE.

My mother immigrated from Europe 50 years ago and went through the process of becoming a naturalized citizen.

What should be done is to understand WHY these folks reside here illegally and resolve the root cause... but no, I think that just makes too much sense.

If the government has anything to do with this you already know that no common sense will ever be applied.

Not enough political correctness in common sense don't you know?

Bill has bi-partisan support. Only 2 votes against it in the Executive Committee. Even Bill Brady voted in favor of it. Looks like a classic example of both parties working together to break the log jam.

Looks like typical politics in the state of Hellinois. And, as you said, a classic example. Where I would disagree, however, is your statement that the parties are "working" together. Not happening on the local or fed level.

One side (Rep) gets their cheap labor and the other side (Dem) gets new voters. A win win for both sides as we all lose.
