Rumor has it the valvoline express over by the car wash on 30 isn't even using valvoline oil, except if you get a special blend. So all these years I thought I was using Valvoline oil I wasn't just generic cheaper stuff but paying the valvoline price??? Anybody else hear this?

All oil places use recycled oil. If you want a preferred oil you have to ask for bottles. It costs more.

Shortly after they opened my husband went for an oil change and he knew exactly the oil that was spec'd. He asked them what oil they were using and it was not to spec, he put up a stink and they went to buy some and put it in.
Last time he went there!

That's BS. They use new oil as do all the other places. Get your head out of the oil drum. I watch what they put in and it is high quality NEW oil. Who told you they put in used oil? I'm a gearhaed, I watch this stuff.

You're awesome. Google valvoline recycled oil. It's a good idea. Gearheads are gay. It's 2013. There's no need to work on your own car.

And I recommend everyone goes to your house for a lube job from your wife. Your daughter does it to when she's not playing with your butthole.

I go to the dealer. In most cases its cheaper. Currie Ford on 30 charges $29.99. They use motorcraft oil in the bottles and a ford filter. You can't go wrong. No appointment needed!

Looking at all the replies here except unincorporated are laughable at best.spec oil?special blend? Recycled oil? Bottled oil? An oil filter that comes in a motorcraft box? Talk about lost. It's all about weight and grade,5w-30,5w-20,0w-20, synthetic. If a manufacture tells you you must use Mobil one in your engine or else then they are wrong. They are just in bed with the oil company. If someone tells you that once you start using synthetic in your engine you can't go back to regular oil, then tell them to take a long walk on a short pier. As for valvoline, go to any store that sells oil and price match oil bought of the shelf, valvoline is cheaper than most and good enough. As for bottled oil well if you think if it comes from a bottle it's better well think again.doesnt matter. Bulk oil is just as good plus plastic oil bottles don't have to sit around in landfills for hundreds of years.recycled I doubt it.synthetic or standard , engines do not discriminate they do not have intelligence like humans . Just lengthens or shortens oil interval life due to the difference in friction modifiers. As for that expensive 8dollar oil filter versus the 3 dollar filter? Save your money, cause your being had. A filter is a filter. Believe it or not"

This is the most uninformed quote out there. It is untrue. Any store branded like Express Care is bound to carry the oils like Valvoline. Unfortunately the rumor is true about this crook and when the signs change it does reflect his dishonesty to his customers and the fact he got caught . With him I would ask for bottles just to make sure or go to De Re Tire. They use the good stuff.

My point being you get your oil changed at the dealer, with the proper weight and good filter for $29.99. They use synthetic in my vehicle. Where can you get a synthetic oil change for $29.99?

Well I don't doubt that you pay 29.95 but the numbers do not add up. Say you need a minimum 5 qts and and a filter. Syn. Is a minimum 6 to 7 dollars a quart plus the filter plus the labor. Somehow that price does not compute.there is no doubt that oil bought in bulk buy the hundreds of gallons is more profitable but 29.95 is very cheap. More power to you professor. Is it full synthetic or is it a shot glass of full synthetic added to regular oil calling it a syn blend? My point is the public is being sold a bunch of b.s. when it comes to this stuff. Changing oil every 3 k is just fine and you do not have to change to filter every oil change. I change my filter every 3 oil changes . Been doing this 35 years with out any problems. Filters are built strong not like the cartridge filters that collapse. Besides the only thing that warrants filter changes are restrictions due to sludge.

I always use a new filter, my preference. Either Napa Gold or K&N, depending what car it is. 3K per oil change? Baloney. I have the owners manual for my 71 vette that recommends changing the oil every 6k. And that was for the Hi-Po LT1. We're being taken, as usual.

I have been taking our vehicles to Express Oil Care for about 9 years. No complaints at all. I have always been treated well. Service is 5 Star to me.

My new vehicle has fully synthetic 0W-20 oil in it from new. The manufacturer recommends changing the oil and filter every 10,000 miles. Every car and manufacturer has different recommendations. I was apprehensive at letting it go 10,000 miles. I just get it done every 5,000 miles. Maybe im wasting my money? I don't know. I just have a problem letting it go 10,000 miles without an oil change.

I drive a semi truck for a living. They change the oil and filters every 50,000 miles. they only check levels and add between changes. The trucks run over a million miles without any problems.....go figure!
