Lets think about this.
Both Caton Farm and Essington are four lane roads.
This being the case the driver thats behind could pass in whatever lane was open.
Stupidity has no bounds.

Wow, how sad. How sad that a 25 year old man who was driving too close to the car in front of him did not have the brains or upbringing necessary to pass the car in front of him thus saving both drivers from the unbelievable tragedy that followed his idiotic behavior. Nowadays it's considered wrong and other drivers get furious when they encounter cars actually DOING THE SPEED LIMIT!!!! I drive on 80 and 55 every single day and the things I've seen are incredible!!! You would think that people have no thought or care for the safety of themselves, their passengers or the people in the other cars the way they drive. Driving on people's tails, swerving around and in front of cars, cutting people off, etc., whatever happened to common decency, compassion and simple manners? I think that they should prosecute that 25 year old to the fullest extent of the law! What he did caused the death of another person. A family is in mourning, lives destroyed! And what about the poor driver who hit them? He has to live with hitting two people the rest of his life and he doesn't deserve that kind of anguish - he was just minding his own business and was dragged into the situation through no fault of his own. Unbelievable!

Sad, sad situation. I feel for the innocent motorist who hit them and for the man who was killed.
I am sorry to see the young people of this country have no respect and apathy for anyone, especially those older than themselves. A 25 yr old man fistfighting a man more than twice his age! How pathetic!

I agree this is a sad situation but before passing judgment on people think about it.
With the events that really took place and with the news paper having some things reversed in their column people jump to conclusions.
Itís just very sad people believe everything they read !

Did any of you read before commenting?

" That\'s when a northbound Nissan just minding his own business struck both men. Donahue was later pronounced deceased at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Wood is currently hospitalized with severe leg and hip injuries. "

Road rage or not this might have been black eyes. The driver of the Nissan "minding his own business" caused the death of 63 year old John Donahue and the injuries of 25 year old Aaron Wood.

Just for the record, a family member of mine was travelling with the 25 yr old man from this accident. Don't believe everything you read in the papers! The 63 yr old man cut off the 25 yr old and then slammed on his brakes! Do I agree that road rage was at fault? Yes. Shame on both of them for acting like children. It's not like the 25 yr old dragged him out of the car to fight, he got out willingly and joined in. Now, lets be careful of finger pointing when you have no idea what you are talking about!!!!

thanks for that clarification.I wasn't clear on the involvement of the N B vehicle. The way it was reported could have been more definitive.

I saw Aron wood get out of the car and begin to kick the other man's car. In my opinion had the 25 year old left it alone they would be alive. The fought for maybe 5 seconds before the car struck them. I was paralyzed in shock for a brief period but managed to run into family video (were I work) and called the police.

Sorry about all the typos I'm using my phone. Another thing I'd like to add is that I did not see anyone else in the car with the 25 y.o. They were alone. He was a frequent customer of Family Video spent nearly 3k in the store. Such a terrible loss. My thoughts and prayer are with his family right now. The police said that had the 25 y.o been facing a slightly different diffection then the Oncoming traffic could have seen them..

To sit here and argue over a situation we can not change or control is ridiculous. I am very saddened by the entire event.

I myself read what WJOL had reported and what you have written, but unfortunetly the whole story is still and will be unclear since the 63 year old is dead. Unless of course there were multiple eye witnesses to the whole event from begining to end. Of course that is unlikely. So the likely out come would be no charges against anyone.

Excuse me have any of you poster considered how bad your comprehension is of the English language. It is like reading a script from the movie Dum and Dumber.

How can any of you pass judgement on a situation which none of you were present for and therefore cannot know what truly happened. The 63 year old man did not die from fighting with the younger man. They both got hit by a Nissan going 30 miles over the speed limit.

aescam, you say you "saw the entire thing". did you see what took place down the street before anyone got out of their cars ?
I can promise you there were 2 people that saw the entire thing from the VERY START.
As for other comments.
For people to sit here and argue or put people down or call names is not going to change anything. Why don't we think of the people that know them ( family, friends ) that read this.
Its bad that people judge others they have never met or know nothing about them.

It's simple--actions speak louder than words and death is the ultimate action
