What does economics have to do with lieing to the public to get their vote? It worked for Obama!

I voted for Obama and he has been great. We need to stop voting for Republicans so Obama can raise what we get paid per hour.

Republicans should be ashamed. They are against free health care. They are against the poor. We need democrats to give us free health care. Republicans are rich brats and care about no one but only care about money.

I thank Obama for knowing that we need assistance. We need the government to help us. I have 6 kids all under the age of 15. My husband left me 10 years ago, since then I have had to use food stamps to assist my kids and family. I am tired of hearing Republicans bash me. We need Obama to assist us.

No, the problem will be solved when Rich Jealous Republicans stop being so stingy. I won't quit. I like my job and with a jump in the minimum wage I will be so much better. Democrats need to unite on this issue.

We need higher taxes, higher minimum wage, free health care. That is what is going on in Europe. We need this here. Here in America.

That's the problem. With so many people out of work there aren't a whole lot of jobs that pay and have benefits for employees. Some businesses know they got people because of the unemployment rate so they play hardball and disrespect the employees by paying them substandard wages and benefits. The "go somewhere else" to employees who have worked for companies for years is not the answer. Big business is doing this on a daily bases. They rid themselves of fair wages and benefits of an older employee and bring in a younger person that will work for half the price. The older person has more overhead and find it difficult to replace what they had, some will need government programs to make it because the expectation is to work longer but there are not a lot of jobs for the older worker. This situation was rear 20 years ago but is the norm now. Businesses used to take care of the workers that worked for them and thus help America. Those days are over and the housing bubble made it even more complicated. It is not one persons or parties fault. There needs to be good dialog in Washington to get back to a fair and common ground.

Mike, your right. But it is the Republicans fault. Its the fault of the rich. Democrats need to support Obama. We need to make sure my kids are taken care of. Obama is for Link Cards, Food Stamps, for the poor and illegal immigrants. I am sick of the Republican's bashing him. We need minimum wage at $25. If I work 50 hours per week and get paid that much, I can feed my children. Add a link card to it, and I can take them on a nice vacation each year. Republicans make me sick. They act like we are stupid.

If your going to make 25 dollars an hour with benifits I doubt you would get food stamps and Link Cards. I would think there would be a fair way to mix and match pay, employer benifits, and goverment programs to help the lower class.

You need to understand that you are not worth "what someone can afford to pay". Your skills and services are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Again, what I can or can not afford to pay is irrelevant. What matters is what I am willing to pay. I can afford to pay my cleaning service 1,000 a week, but the services she provides are not worth that much. You are saying because I can afford it, I should pay her 4 times what i value the service to be worth....see the point, yet?

We see the point... That is why we establish a minimum wage that is fair and go from there. A fair wage or goverment funded programs. It's one or the other.

John, you just don't get it. Your argument is not relevant. It does not matter if you want to pay me or not, if we pass this minimum wage law you either pay up or don't hire me. Obama and I are on the same page. That is why we need a large government. To protect us against selfish business owners owner. John, do you get the point. You may not think I am worth the $25 per hour, but you will have to pay me. Just stop driving your expensive cars and share the wealth.

I will be a $25 per hour. Obama said a national minimum wage.. That is silly,$9 per hour in Chicago is not like $9 per hour Arizona. We need more money to assist our kids.

Hmmmm that's interesting, you have 6 kids under 15 and your husband left you 10 years ago. Are you trying to say you had 6 kids in 5 years by the same baby daddy??? I hope you're using those free birth control pills the government is passing out!!! Geez...take responsibility for your actions.

This argument usually comes down to one thing. The folks who support a higher minimum wage think that their boss makes too much and they make too little. They either aren't capable of going into business for themselves or they just don't want to put in the effort. Yet when they see their employer enjoying the benefits of putting themselves out there, they realize they want that. They say things like "that's not fair, I work hard too". All they see is the benefits, they ignore they extra work, the extra worry, the business loans, etc. They only see the BMW.

YOU GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN

If you are only willing to show up, put in your time and go home, then you will be compensated accordingly. If , however, you are willing to put yourself at significant financial risk to go into business and you end up being successful, then you will have the opportunity to enjoy the spoils.

All the career wage earners will of course think this is all BS. That's only because the only thing that's frightens them more than a low minimum wage is the idea that they would have go out there and be the guy who has to make the decisions. The guy that the others will look to for answers. In other words, someone with real responsibility and not just a face in the crowd.

By the way, even if they raise the minimum wage, if you don't plan on trying to better yourself, it won't help you. Only you can do that.

Sorry, the country has voted and they are with me. Free health care, high minimum wage, Obama has spoken. I hear many who disagree with me and then they tell me they voted for Obama. I don't get it? You voted for Obama, but you feel people need to work in a captilist system that pays people for what they are worth? How do you do that with free health care? Sorry, if you want to work in America you are worth $25 per hour and free health care. You don't have to convince me, convince yourself and the politicians you voted in. America has changed. Free health care, high minimum wage, regulation, etc. Love it or leave it.
