WTH! They're also saying that the whole intersection of 9th & State will be closed down overnight for four days sometime during that construction. What about people who work nights and their only way to the other side is the 9th street bridge?

So, so STUPID to be starting this crap NOW!

Too bad for you morons you drive around it like the jerk wads you are... This city needs progress and Who cares if it's an inconvenience to you.

Who the hell said anything against progress you numbskull?

It’s beyond stupid to begin road construction right before winter. Only a dipshitidiot such as yourself would “think”(& I use the term loosely) otherwise.

Not stupid at all, actually good planning.

If they wait until March/April 2018 to start the project it will go until 2019 and going through the winter is a disaster. By spending 3 weeks relocating utilities now it gives them the chance to complete the project during construction season next year.

Your slight inconvenience now while they're working hopefully means no closed lanes (with no one working) next winter.

No wonder you're defending it, you make about as much sense as beginning a four-week construction project on a busy street in the winter

Um, it will be winter weather NOW.......during the next four weeks that the construction is slated to take.

If they started the project in March/April 2018, which would make much more sense, it would be done by April/May 2018.....where in the world are you getting that if they start March/April 2018, this supposed FOUR WEEK construction project will go to winter of 2019?? Huh? And yes, they plan on closing lanes during all this too, during crappy WINTER weather.

I believe you are talking to a complete moron... We Will just refer to him as Dr dorkhead moving forward. Whoever scheduled this project for winter time was smart the city workers Will milk this project all winter long and get paid to sit home due to dangerous working conditions. Taxpayers skimped and pimped again by labor unions.

You do realize that this isn't an independent 3-4 week project right? This needs to be done before the major IDOT State St construction project next year. This allows that project to be completed in the construction season next year

No, I did not. The only notice I’ve seen was in regards to the 4-week Nicor project beginning this week.
