Sure, sure but what about the thousands who might not have heart attacks and die from stuffing their faces and arteries with Twinkies, HoHo's and Hostess cupcakes? How many jobs will that be that aren't bequeathed to the living? How many cardiologists and cardiac surgeons will have to start cutting back on their lifestyles?
Just think of all the construction jobs lost because a standard three foot entry door won't have to be widened to let some Hostess fan's expanded arse pass without chafing on the jamb.
This is truly a tragedy of monumental proportions, but looking on the bright side, it gives you twits something to cluck about for those moments before it fades into historical insignificance.[/[/[?
You won't have to worry about that too much longer. People who eat like that will be taken care of by our new government genocide program better known as obamacare

Odd how I see no one mentioning the obvious, blatant mismanagement from the top in all this. You know, the executives lining their pockets as the ship..er twinkie sinks. Honestly, if these people can't sell twinkies and make it profitable..like all the decades it was before 2004, they are doing something very, very wrong.

Why am I not surprised that none of you address Hostess going into bankruptcy in 2004. Yep...it's all Obama's fault. Lmao. Let me guess...you just came in off the picket line, right?

we are still feeling the effects of bush. this is much worse than i thought. therefore, I am asking congress to write up a constitutional amendment so I can run another term to fix this mess left by the previous administration.

Thats becuase you are on Topix New Lenox. If you had not noticed, it has become a bastion of Tea Party extremists who keep feeding off each other. Read just about every damn thread its the same. Obama bad, Democrats bad, unions bad. These guys have 3 targets to explain all the ills of the world. Wife left them?-Democrats made it too easy for divorce. They got fat and ripped their pants?-Obamacare even though its not yet started. They were found sleeping on the job?-Unions fault for hostess going under, because they could no longer get twinkies to fuel their working hours. Or just interchange the three evils of the world and insert as needed.

One of the funniest parts of this whole thing. Probably the biggest of the big mouths Professor. Mr get some skin in the game. I stand up to fight the evil Obama. Really then put your money and your actions where your big mouth is. Quit your union Teamster truck driving job. Ask your pal Neighbor. Unions support the evil democrats and even Marxist socialist Obama. And you are a member of the union who pays union dues to help the evil empire get reelected.

Thank you Mr. Obama. You have helped even more people find a better job by getting them fired. This way their resources can be utilized in a more efficient manner. It's simple economics. Besides, it' only a $20 billin dollar tax. That's nothing for these fat cats.

A "medical device excise tax" included in the mandate imposes a 2.3 percent levy on medical device manufacturers and suppliers, which critics say will raise prices on everything from pacemakers to prosthetics to stents. Companies will be required to pay the tax regardless if they have a profit or loss for the year. The tax is estimated to cost the medical device industry $20 billion.

Your correct about the union. They are in bed with the democrats. They donate my dues tio the democrats. They are constantly telling us how to vote. Where did it get us? There are only TWO union trucking left paying into the multi employer pension fund. UPS & ABF. The fund is in the red. 40K are currently feeding off it, while only 10K are currently paying into it. ABF is trying to get out because they are losing money. Tbe only ones who made out are the union executives and politicians. The democrats did nothing for unions. I can only imagine UPS is looking for a way out as well. To be honest. The teamsters are almost done.

In reality, Hostess is privately owned, and has been in financhial trouble for years. Given their old and falling apart trucks, infrastructure, and operating costs, they were definately heading into bankruptsy again anyway. The stubborn Union showed no loyality to the owners, the company, nor their great products. They play win/lose games. So Hostes closes, liquidates remaining assets, and the owner pays off the debts. The Union members? They go home with no job, an angry spouse, and very very very few Baker jobs to pursue.

Sometimes companies fail. They have been having financial troubles for at least 8 years. You can only ask you workers for so many bailouts and concessions. The workers have bills to pay as well. Sometimes you need a little shove to go and find a better job. I hate to see people lose their jobs, but it happens. If you are part of a union or not, if your company continues to cut your pay and raise your healthcare contributions etc etc, sometimes you have to bite the bullet and move on. I dont see too many people working in wallpaper factories anymore. Things come and go. I hate to say it, but I used to love their products, but could not tell you the last time I bought any.
Also its very possible that another company may come in and take over the brand. Maybe they will have a better business model and fresh ideas.

Again I say Hostess' financial problems started long before Obama took office. So I guess we should blame the Bush administration for the first bankruptcy in 2004, right?
The issue here is that the Unions think they are so powerful that they'll muscle their way to victory...not this time! I was just hoping that the the CPS brought in non-union teachers when the Union teachers went on strike. Of course that didn't happen because the replacement teacher may have actually outperformed the Union teachers and the kids might have actually learned something.
Not saying obama caused this. Just saying he is a supporter of unions and i think we are both agreeing that unions can present major problems for business, sometimes leading to business failure, poor teachers, etc. personally, i would rather have a president that doesnt cater to unions and it sounds like you would agree.

Why do we bail out car companies but not hostess? Sometimes business fails right? Thats 18000 votes up for auction isnt it?

What your well being loser! Are you going to say that without hostess your fat ass is safer. Everything you probably stuff your face with has the same consumption value of hostess products. That's most things you can buy at the store. Tell your big eared loser Obama to print more fake money and bail them out too. General motors is alive. What a joke.

Where was Obama? Obama should have bailed them out to save all those good union jobs.

What a hypocrate. When Bain tries to save a company and it fails, you claim Bain shut them down, and screwed the workers. What a jerk you are.

You all are blind. The Union caused none of this. The previously took a concession, SAVING the company 130M/yr. where did that money go?? It wasn't reinvested into the company, that's for sure. With filing for the 2nd bankruptcy, the company asks the union to take a 8% pay cut and a 30 something % in benefits WHILE THE CEO GIVES HIMSELF A 300 something % raise from 750k to 2.55M/yr.. I would of told them to pound sand too. This was coming ever since the first bankruptcy filing in 2004. When they came out of that "restructuring" they incurred 200M more in debt in the process. Not the unions fault. They willing and knowingly stopped paying into the retirement/pension fund or their employees... Still gave themselves HUGE raises all the while asking for more concessions. That was the problem all along. You people need to stop having tunnel vision, I'm sure you wouldn't e happy with your employer if they were doing that to you.

Bain is not trying to save any companies. Bain is trying to make money for it's investors. Good or bad, it's what they do. Bain does not care about American workers. Bain does not care about America. People have tried to explain this to you for months. Why don't you ever seem to grasp even the simplest of concepts?
