This town is going bad fast. I saw them plowing the old Ace Hardware parking lot today. There is one store left there. I think it's the cleaners. Pretty soon all we'll have left is the Lowes and the Walmart. That's the way they shut down our local economy. They come in and predatory price everything and drive mom and pop out of business. It'll be like a ghost town in no time. Then they raise the prices way higher. This sucks.

Times are tough. We eat out way less than we have in the past. It's just way cheaper to prepare food at home than to eat out. People are out of work, some have reduced hours, and it just trickles down to the local eateries. It's too bad about Chicago Dough, nice people who own that place.

I'm pretty sure two of these restaurants are safe. Charleston's and Chicago Dough are renters. Therefore, they can't be foreclosed upon. Their building owners may be in trouble but that doesnt mean they are going anywhere. The other place blows anyways.

Yes, that is Mokena. Good point. But it is in the area and it is shuttered. Looks abd for the community. The Ace closed because they couldn't come to an agreement about their lease. What? Like they couldn't work together to keep a viable business open? I don't think they wanted to. Dumper. That's where we are headed.

All foreclosures are Public Information. Those 3 restaurants are specifically listed in Foreclosure complaints filed through the County. Even if two are renting, They obviously can't pay and are all on their way out...Bye Bye!!!

The property they purchased 5 or 6 years ago is not worth what is was 5 years ago.. Banks are calling in there loans.. What a shame this ecomony is no good!!!

Charlestons spent alot of money on a beautiful bar and now there is no one going there, they are renting, so they really are not being foreclosed, maybe evicted.

Really, Wow, then I wonder why their is an actual FORCLOSURE case filed against Charlestons and all 3 of it's owners. There is a difference between "Eviction" cases and "Foreclosure" cases. Check the facts!

Charleyhorse IS in foreclosure, and it is closed. Here is the court filing number: R2013011105 Charleston's is NOT in foreclosure. They rent that space. Period. Wanna see? Here is the filing number for their lease-R2008009307 Post the court case number for their "FORCLOSURE" . We'll wait. Otherwise, it is just blather and gossip.

Call the County, to get your information straight! Either way they are going down the tubes and can't pay their bills! No matter what case is filed it's not changing the outcome of it, they will close just like Charlie Horse!
