Food stamp usage is up 70% since 2008. All you hear on the media and from the Libs is that we are enjoying a recovery, everything is great, equality is working, Obama is God! Euphoria has arrived!

JUST DONT OPEN YOUR EYES! LOL!

Professor, as stated on other threads, until manufacturing makes a big comeback (which isn't likely) what you see is the new America. Its easy to jump to the conclusion that Obama is giving people a free ride but you know its way more complicated than that. The jobs we have right now are what is going to support us. That is why I feel the quickest fix is to raise the minimum wage substantially as soon as possible, that way people
have money to help pay for basic necessities.

Manufacturing has been gone for about 15yrs or more. A 70% increase over the last four years is a mighty large increase. That figure raises a red flag to me.

If we were tapping our energy resources, lowered our corporate tax rate of 35%(which is the highest in the world) losen the strict regulations attached to business,(making it impossible for companies to survive, expand, and start up) if that didn't unleash the economy, I would agree with you. I believe a lot could be done to fix the economy. Spending money we don't have and focusing on every social issue in the world is definitely not the right remedy.

Professor,

As usual you are wrong again. Corporate America are once again enjoying record profits. They do not pay their fair share due to the massive loopholes and offshore tax havens where they park their money. So 35% not so. 1 in 4 do not pay any taxes (according to Senator Bernie Sanders). Spending money we don't have, you are correct on that, the best start to address that is slash the amount of military bases around the world by 1/2 (Ron Paul says is around 900) and stop the occupation in Iraq and Afganistan immediately. Now that is money we do not have to spend.

Your regurgitating Obama's propaganda. Your drinking the Kool-Aid. The subject is 70% more on food stamps since Obama took office.

If we use your argument, did these corporations just receive all these breaks since Obama was elected? No! Why 70% increase in food stamps?

You are spot on of course; but Professor wants to blame everything on Obama as usual.

Zero change the requirement for welfare. If you make 200% of the poverty level you qualify. It was 130%. There are no checks for bank accounts, home ownership, retirement accounts, or any such nestegg. The bar as been lowered for eligibility that's why their use is up. If you have a nestegg, now is the time to use it. That is, if you have to. Now instead, you can lean on the government. That's why the Lexus driver is using an EBT card. Pisses you off, doesn't it?

How about the millions Obama just gave to Egypt? How about the fighter planes and tanks Obama gave to the Muslim brotherhood? How about the expensive lavish vacations the Obama"s take on our dime? They ate the most vacationing presidential family in History! This is a record and History breaking presidency, Too bad it's all in a negative direction.

When the history books are written, 50 yrs from now, 100 yrs from now, people are going to look back on this time and say "What the hell were the American people thinking"
