Exactly, little kids attacked by the neighbors dog that they have played with for years. Everyone is shocked.... But pitties aren't dangerous. You people in Romeoville are nuts.

Gee, by the sound of your post YOU sound aggressive!
Several witnesses stated that the dog wasn't being aggressive and was headed back to his own yard. If this is the case, it wasn't justified. I'm more concerned with a 'gun happy' policeman than a dog. Granted the owner should have been more responsible; too bad the dog had to suffer for it.

I care moron. LOL who died and left you boss of topix why don't you go back to you room and behave yourself before you get smacked around. To explain to your simple and obtuse brain. It is VERY relevant what kind of dog it was. A lot of dogs have the ability to hurt people and even kill them. But Pitties stand alone as the most dangerous dog. Don't be a moron.

RPD still shooting dogs. Doesn't surprise me one bit , they shot my dog in my yard for no reason then gave me the runaround for weeks about the police report. Some things never change.

Officers were doing a vacation check on a nieghbors house. While officers were in my yard my dog (pitbull) supposedly charged them. The witnesses to this stated that the dog was cowering on my porch as they approached and they all asked officers to put their weapons away as the dog was not aggressive. They continued to corner the dog with guns drawn . As they approached the dog tried running past them, they shot him in the head. Only then did they knock on my door to inform me that they shot my dog and he was wounded and running. They were nice enough to give me a ride to catch the dog and then left me a mile from my house with a dog with a bullet in it's head and told me I was on my own . After trying to reach Ltd. Turvey for weeks to obtain the report I was continually told he wasn't available. I finally had my girlfriend call and pose a someone else and he answered five minutes after I was told he was on vacation. I finally received a report that had all statements blacked out with marker. Then the harassment began. So glad I moved because rpd are the dirtiest police force I've ever seen.

Really? Dirtiest police force you have ever seen? Where do you live now, Mayberry? I have never seen the RPD in any "real" newspaper with stories of corruption, police abuse, or wrongful shootings...
Because something supposedly happened to you many years ago, doesn't make them dirty.

The only place you hear or see bad things about the RPD is on this troll infested website.

Well said. IF his story is true, why didn't he file a lawsuitt? IF it's all true as he said It he had a strong case.

I didn't file a lawsuit because after consulting an attorney, the amount that could be awarded was minimal compared to the harrasement I would recieve. The dog lived with minimal veterinary care , the bullet slide along the side his skull and lodged into the bottom jaw muscle only requiring a laceration and removing the round. The attorney informed me that all an officer has to do is say he felt threatened and the shooting was justified. Tresspassing was not an option because they claim to have business there (vacation check). All in all it wasn't worth the headache to battle the big bad rpd as I'd recieved petty violations after request for the reports of this incident ( blocking sidewalk , parking to far from curb, etc).
