Why don't you just come out and say you are Mark? Who just strolls into an establishment that isn't open yet , "just for a taste"? It's ok to say, Hi I'm Mark, the owner ......please give my establishment a try....
Hi my name is mark. I am the owner of The Manhattan Firehouse. The blog you responded to was from a real guest who popped in for a bite to eat. Yes, these things do happen. For the record the restaurant is now open. I am here for you Tuesday through Sunday opening at 11am.

Just popped in to taste. Mark the owner is a 27 year international chef. Culinary degrees from Ireland and in Boston graduated top of his class of 3,500. Special proprietary blend of beef round, beef chuck and pork rib meat. All produce locally hydroponically grown in green house in Wilton Center and sourced meats from Wittingham Meats http://www.rwhittinghammeats.com/
Kirby bakery supplies fresh breads daily. No freezer or microwave. Everything is fresh. Import a domestic beers in cans. Pickles his own. Cut fries, fresh slaw. Beer battered rings. May be twice the price of Mc Donald's. But 10X's better. Opens Tuesday the 18th. Grand opening the 19th with 2 bands in the back lot. Burger was very tasty.
Yeah right! So you were able to "pop in for a taste" and get such thorough information but everyone else in town has to wait until July 19? Trying to advertise with deceit is not the best business decision.
I agree

Sounds fishy to me too. Who goes into a business that isn't open? And guess what ? Even though they aren't open , they are in there cooking burgers?
I also don't see an international chef (lol) opening a hamburger resturaunt , especially in Podunk , Illinois

To have a successful business in Manhattan, do NOT reply to posts on Topix. People will try to get you riled up and say something stupid. Get a Facebook page where you can see who is posting.

Why don't you people give it a chance? I am looking forward to trying it and hope it is successful. I am willing to pay more for a good burger! We need to support businesses, not run them out before they open.

He said that the restaurant is now open. Drop it. I'm looking forward to a new choice in Manhattan. We all complain that there aren't enough businesses in Manhattan and then complain when someone takes a chance and opens a new one. Opening a business has to be a difficult endeavor--both in terms of the work and the risk involved. Let's try to be supportive.

Welcome!

No deceit here, my kid is lucky enough to get a job there and we popped in to sample some of his menu items. We are looking forward to a new business in this "podunk" town and thought to share the information here. So tired of the same ol' options of pizza and...pizza and we were impressed not only by what he's got to offer, but the fact that his suppliers are local and fresh.
Stop by and you'll see for yourself.
Good luck

Don't get caught up with listening to people on this site!! Most of them are teenagers hiding behind the annonimity of the internet. You won't win and can't win responding to people on topix. Real customers will talk to you not Post on this looser site!!

I tried them today. I forgot the name of my burger, it had bacon, a black pepper run, and loads of blue cheese. It was absolutely fantastic. The fries were very good as well. I will return again and again. Great quality.

I went there today and they were out of bread and I also heard the other day they were out of meat. Hey Mark, here's an idea, send a worker down the street to Berkots and freakin buy some buns. They might not be the same bread you are using but you need to keep customers happy. It is good you are selling out, and although I hear the food is great, The Firehouse is already leaving a bad taste in my mouth! When Horchata's first opened they ran out of meat and had to turn customers away, me being one of them, and I have not been back since. At least if you improvised and went and bought bread you would be making great money today to make up for the money you will lose tomorrow, and in the future, because you supply the demand! Basic high school economics my friend.
