Quinn claims Illinois can't stop taxing and spending. He will be re-elected. Illinois loves those words.

I hope Bruce Rauner wins. Hopefully he keeps his word. The way I see it we can't do any worse than what we have now.

Sounds like what this comes down to is the lesser of two evils. Of course which will still leave you with evil.

The liberal establishment has destroyed Illinois. Rauner made many strong commitments to repair and rebuild Illinois. Let's take him on his word and hope he is not dishonest like the Obama regime.

That's the insanity of Quinn and the liberals. The notion that we can't stop taxing and spending is insane. Do they run their households that way? The end result to that will eventually be bankruptcy.

If I remember right, Quinn ran and won on the promise he would raise tax rates to cover the cost of education. It's for the children. Barf. At least Rauner has a lot of money and doesn't have to kiss anyone's ass. That's our only hope, because what's been going on the last 6 years isn't working. I'm out of this state soon anyway, so I shouldn't even care. Have you all seen the for sale signs that have popped up like mushrooms lately? I saw 3 new ones on a walk I took Sunday. People I know and didn't think had any notion of moving. This state sucks. And it's all the Ds fault. Their policies are terrible.

I think we have reached the point to where the whole state has turned into Cook County. Mostly all the people I know that are Republicans plan on leaving Illinois in the coming years. Whats going to happen then? Liberal Democrats never stop spending and will keep adding more unfunded programs. The majority of their base is the types of individual that needs the freebies. When Quinn said that statement the other day, he was describing illinois situation and attitude 'Were broke but we are going to get even broker, try and stop us!" Even if Rauner wins, we have to face the fact that the Dems will still have the General Assembly and Senate with comfortable majorities as well as the States Supreme Court. Everyone knows the Democrat party has killed this state. Everyone knows something has to be drastically done but won't do it. The public sector unions own these politicians! I can't believe the greater majority of Illinois residents go along voluntarily with the politicians that deliver for such a low number of people. Look how high our residential taxes are as well as our state income taxes. Guys like Quinn and Emanuel want more. For what? To pay teachers and other retirement benefits for municipal employees. Most of whom quickly leave our state and go to a nice red state to protect their pensions because they have very low taxes. By all logic, considering the horrific circumstances of Illinois, Quinn should lose in a Landslide! That is possible but not likely. Nobody can make a compelling argument for Quinn. Everything about this state is in decline and in utter ruins!

All taxes will more than likely double in the next ten ears to pay for all the grift promised by the D polls. I'll be long gone by then. Enjoy, suckers. Even Emmanuel said Chitcago property taxes will have to double next year to pay the 600 million the city is required by law to put into the union's pension plans. LOL!

Oh, he won't raise the taxes while he is in office. He will keep spending and set something up to take place as he leaves office after one more tern. I don't know how the residents in Chicago residents expect to deal with this situation. Can you imagine a 11 to 12 thousand property tax on an average home in the city of Chicago? You know 40% of the cities population will be given an exemption, like they always do! I say fuck the idiots who stay to pay for the out of control pension payments of municipal union members. They continue to vote for the Dems that are doing this to them! Wait and see, Madigan and the Dems Will work out a way to tax everyone in every county of Illinois to pay for Chicago employees! How is this fair? Leave Illinois as soon as you can!

They are playing some of this out right now. Property taxes are just the rent you pay to live where you live. I don't like them. You never really own your home. This state is miserable. And you're right. There isn't enough in the tax base to not bring in the whole state to pay for this mess. It WILL happen. Income tax hike? Again? Will it be temporary? LOL! They must think people are really stupid and won't vote with their feet. Ill Noise will be at California and NY levels soon. Try 11% income taxes! This isn't even a nice climate. Business or otherwise. Why? Ask the Ds. They've been exclusive leaders of this state for a long time now.

Emanuel proposes property tax hike to help fund pensions
