Lemont Resident Christopher Yeoman Hit With Murder Rap For Alleged Road Rage Punch On Senior Citizen.

Christopher Yeoman of Lemont is facing an aggravated battery charge in connection with the June 02, 2011 road rage incident.

Since, the charges have been upped to second degree murder after the victim Frank Egas a 63yr. old senior citizen and Viet Nam veteran succumbing to his injuries from the vicious attack died on September 29, 2011. Mr. Egas had just turned 64 on June 11, 2011 while in intensive care.

After the attack on Mr. Egas Yeoman fled the scene. The Romeoville Police Dept. in conjunction with the Lemont Police Dept. arrested Yeoman hiding in his grandmothers house.

Upon his initial arrest, Christopher Yeoman was charged with simple battery a misdemeanor.

Christopher Yeoman faces second-degree murder charges after Mr. Egas, succumbing from his injuries, died at a Lake County hospice facility. The Lake County Coroner determined that Mr. Egas succumbed to injuries he suffered in the June 2011 incident, said Assistant State's Attorney Chris Koch.

Yeoman had previously posted $75,000 bond for his freedom. He was taken into custody on the murder charges and transported to the Will County jail.
Judge Sarah Jones tacked another $25,000 onto Yeoman's bond during the arraignment. Yeoman's wife was in the courtroom holding the cash to get him out.
Yeoman and Egas first crossed paths near the intersection of New Avenue and 135th Street about 4:30 p.m. on June 2, 2011, where they engaged in a "traffic altercation," police said.
The situation escalated as they drove west on 135th, and after stopping for a light at Route 53, Yeoman got out of his van and approached Egasí car prompting him to get out of his car. Yeoman punched Egas in the face, according to court papers, and Egas hit the ground.
Police and paramedics arrived to find Egas on the pavement but Yeoman had reportedly fled the scene. He was tracked down at his grandmotherís home in Lemont, police said.
According to his obituary, Egas "emigrated from Ecuador to the United States when he was 9 years old. He earned his naturalization by volunteering to serve in the US Army in the Vietnam War."
Yeoman's attorney, Clifford Johnson, mentioned that his client had not been arrested since he was picked up on a felony drug charge in the 1990s. Johnson said Yeoman is father to three children.

Yes he is still out on the street enjoying life.

Christopher Yeoman, do the right thing and plead guilty you killed a human being, don't be a punk all your life. Your family will go bankrupt paying the lawyer. Be an example to your three kids.

Do you know the whole story ? I do. it's a tragedy that Mr. Egas is no longer with us. I cannot go into anything more because of the ongoing trial and because neither Mr. Yeoman or Mr. Egas are here to defend themselves. There is a LOT more to this story. In my opinion all are at fault. Mr. Egas was let down by society. This whole affair should never have happened. A wife and three young chidren were involved in this tragedy and scared to death at the time. never jump to conclusions. I call that contempt prior to investigation. Find out the facts before you assume innocence or guilt. You have already rendered a verdict without any facts.

You are correct, Mr Yeoman made him pull over, made him get out of the car, and made him fight. I guess the 63 year old, just pulled over to say hello.
