Thank you! I feel sorry for her. God , family, friends, good schools must have hit a nerve for her.
I see your point too. But aren't you really trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. That's pretty much the typical way of behaviour for a whole bunch of townies that have been living here for a long time. All closed up in Manhattan, never venturing out and about too much. In short that would be ignorant gossipers and whisperers. Borgo's friend Delaney is a whisperer type.

All great points but can we continue support our town irregardless who 's running it. Both have failed. Just tryinging to highlight what we like not what we don't.
Try to stay positive with what you like about the town.

This is not the site for anything positive. This site is for the bitter complainers.

There are a few things to love about Manhattan. I love that I don't have to go through emmissions testing because the town is too small; I love that we are small but have a zip code and a tiny post office; I love that the Police Station is attached to the back of a bar; I love that we have an immigrant owned liquor store; I love that the bakery makes crappy stuff so I won't indulge there; I love Fritz's; I love that I can go the farmer's house for my pumpkins in the fall; and I love that I can tell anyone who irks me on Topix to f^@k off.

This is a great town. We have never regretted living here, raising our family here, or the friends we have made here. It's safe & relaxing, love our church, & schools.
If you don 't enjoy all of the above I feel sorry for you. You do need to leave and be happy someplace else.
Those who don't like our town need not post here. You would never be happy!
So how many homes will you be buying to help assist those of us who want to move ? Mine is listed $60k less then I paid 6 years ago, and not one offer. This town is dead, the people just haven't figured it out yet.

I always enjoy reading these forums. It's great comic relief to us younger folks! Can't wait to hit midlife! I own my home, pay taxes and find myself disagreeing with the politics in this town. I just find better ways to channel the frustration. Name calling and pointing fingers behind a computer CHANGES NOTHING people! But keep it up, it's great free entertainment;)

To see the people of Manhattan talk this way really upsets me. You bash everyone you can and say hurtful and disgusting things.. I grew up in this town and wanted to see what topix was all about, talking about our town and how we can try to make it better. I voted for Borgo once, it was a big mistake and I realize now that Doyle is the way to go. I just wish people wouldnt fight and name call. Its very upsetting.

You are going to be upset for a very, very long time. And your buddy Doyle, the one you grew up with, is not the way to go. Do you really think a little sweet talk from you will put him back st the front? What a crock, "I voted for Borgo once". If I wasn't awake I could say I was having a bad dream about this innocent and wholesome 50 something lady from Manhattan fretting that her beloved friend, Jamey Doyle is being kicked around and labled by some name callers, and that this 50 something lady was so upset over it that I was going to have to go into that part of my dream and save her for being so much upheaval. Come on! I'd rather stay up all night making signs for Borgo and sneaking around at 3:30 am putting them up in people's front yards. You Manhattan originals are a piece of work.
