This is the McDonalds worker citing low pay after 10 years & no help from McDonalds. Yet, there is no evidence presented by her that she has increased her skills, taken training, sought after hour education, etc... No evidence she has tried to improve her qualifications. Yet, believes that because McDonalds is a profitable business they should just pay her more because...Income redistribution I guess. This is a perfect example of the "poor me" society, expecting more for nothing. If you have minimum skills, you get a minimum skill job. You will never make more or get rich, unless you, and you alone, improve yourself. If you have a minimum skill job, do not expect to support a family, home, car, etc... Did I really have to tell her that? Did I?

This is called "mind control" To get people's mental state focused that they are 'Victims" of society is a major step necessary for the implementation of Marxism or Communism! It's in no way the citizens fault that they are uneducated, unskilled, and poor is the message from government. The government portrays and positions themselves as having compassion for masses, the "SAVIORS" for them! When in reality the government is the EVIL Iron Fist Of Tyranny! This is nothing new to the world. It is new for America though! I believe that's part of the reason some Americans are tricked & fooled by this progressive Marxist movement by the Obama administration. If you have any knowledge of history, my message to you has happened time and time again throughout history! The formula for Tyranny is already written in the history books! You just have to know what it is, to be able to easily recognize it!

She should seek another job. One where she can move up the ladder. If she has no motivation, she's not going anywhere. I've seen runners on the trading floor stay runners for years. I was a runner for about 3 months until I was scooped by a trading firm. Not trying to pat myself on the back, I was highly motivated to make money considering I was newly married and just out of college. (7 hard years)

Yeah, it's really tough to get ahead and build a nestegg. If the Fed isn't devaluing our dollar the IRS is taking them from us. Not to mention the sh*tstorm that is Ill Noise pension problems.
The have nots are coming for what people have worked their entire lives for. And getting it. That isn't fair. I like the rule, "If you don't work, you don't eat!"

You fools fail to understand that when workers make more money they spend more money and society as a whole benefits. Minimum wage in Illinois is too low. It should be around $12.00 per hr.

They should pay a higher wage. Their food prices have increased a lot so why not wages?

This is the benefit McDonalds gives their workers:

McDonald's workers struggling to get by on poverty wages should apply for food stamps and Medicaid.

That's the advice one activist McDonald's worker received when she called the company's "McResource Line," a service provided to McDonald's workers who need help with issues like child and health care.

"You can ask about things like food pantries. Are you on SNAP? SNAP is Supplemental Nutritional Assistance [Program]-- food stamps ... You would most likely be eligible for SNAP benefits," a McResource representative told 27-year-old Nancy Salgado, who works at a Chicago McDonald's. "Did you try and get on Medicaid? Medicaid is a federal program. It's health coverage for low income or no income adults -- and children."

Maybe McDonald's employees need a union to negotiate pay and benefits with the company. You know....kind of like the one you had at district 210. Go away you self serving prick. You couldn't handle a shift at McDonald's. Your too slow.

What you fail to understand is that minimum wage jobs are not intended for adults to raise families on. I understood that when I was 12!

All these uneducated deadbeats want to work part time at places like McDonalds as adults serving $1 hamburgers & fries! Then they blame McDonalds & Society for their failures in life? Then the Progressive Marxist movement led by Obama gets on TV and says that's terrible. We have to take more from the hard working productive people of society and give you poor "VICTIMS" more of their wealth. Then the drive by media sets up discussions on every channel supporting Obama and the deadbeats against us? WTF!

Why don't they inform and educate the deadbeats of society what we had to do to become successful to stand on our own two feet? That would be the responsible and productive route to take for society!

Like I stated before, the progressive Marxist need these dysfunctional people to advance their Marxism! Their policies are aimed at creating more deadbeats and less productive citizens!

Like our forefathers warned us. We will remain free as long as we have an educated populous involved in the country and voting process! "Low Information Voters" lead to Oppression & Tyranny!

Why not make it $50? That would REALLY help. Then they could afford a house, a car, and so on. Explain to me why they can't just make it $50 an hour? That seems "fair" to me. They are a rich corporation. How about it?

I agree with you. The incentive to improve is what separates greatness from mediocrity. If you are comfortable with flipping burgers, then you are agreeing to be comfortable with the financial reward.

You fail to understand that in some communities in rural America those are the only jobs there are and seniors are working them. Of course you cannot raise a family on such jobs, not unless you are a higher up in the corporate ladder. So you're ok with worker exploitation?

Explain the economics of not making it $50 dollars an hour. Why not make it a hundred? That way everyone would be wealthy, right? Paying the prevailing wage is not exploitation. What does your job pay you? Why isn't it a $1000 an hour? Are you being exploited? Please explain.

The workers choose those jobs. They are free to quit. No one forced them into those jobs. This is still America. We are heading for a Marxist society because of pea brains like you, but we are not quite there yet!

This is where you lose me. Nobody except the buffoon Unincorporated said McDonald's workers should make $50.00 an hour. But the minimum wage is too low. You have plenty of free time on your hands. You could work a shift at McDonald's. So could Unincorporated, Neighbor, Professor, etc. None of you could handle it. You're all too slow. This is where you need to get a grip. Being a teacher's aid is not that demanding. I'm sure you thing you deserve more money. You aren't going to get it. Your husband the fireman worked many 24 hour shifts. Do you know how many 24 hour shifts he could work at McDonald's...zero. He couldn't stay on his feet that long or stay alert. I'm not saying McDonald's workers should make a fortune, but they work harder than too many of the older posters on this forum. You need to show a little compassion for those that have to work at jobs you deem menial or beneath you.

Many of them could drive a truck for a living. And I do mean may of them. They will work longer hours and for less pay than you will. You know how many McDonald's workers have time to post on Topix during their work hours. None of them. You couldn't even get a job there. Maybe Unincorporated can show you how to be a trader. Of course you're going to need quite a bit of support from mommy and daddy like he had.

I never said the wage should not be increased. But, IMO, the current movement and the numbers I have seen suggested would be counter productive to a skilled and educated society.

As far as your personal taunts towards me and my husband, they are just too ridiculous to even address.

This is a great point. Basically, McDonald's makes a huge profit, while taxpayers help to support their employees. In other words, we are paying the salaries of McDonald's employees.

From what I've heard, McDonald's isn't the only corporate giant sending their employees to the government for the rest of their paycheck - Walmart, among others, does this practice too.

The workers of these establishments are irresponsible. No one starts a family on a part time minimum wage job. Preparing $1 hamburgers & fries is not a career decision. These are jobs for the youth going to High School or local colleges. They are intended in putting a few bucks in their pockets while giving them some work ethics and responsibility. Entitlements need to end and these people need to be forced to be responsible and stand on their own two feet like you and I !!!!!
