Not quite sure who to blame for this embarrassment, but whoever paved/striped the lot south of the station obviously isn't familiar at all with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The disabled parking spaces aren't the proper distance from either ramp (actually are located in the furthest spaces DOWNHILL??? from the ramps) leading to the platform, aren't painted the correct colors, no signage of any kind, the slope of the ramps as well as the slope of the lot aren't even close to being what they should be, etc. Whoever oversaw the contractors on that LITTLE project should pay for the corrections out of their own pocket for their lack of knowledge!!! By the way, I DO know what I'm talking about, I'm a REAL engineer, not a dress up one!

After living in Will County since 1982 what you speak of does not surprise me. I think it relates to the Summit drive discussion or the Post Office strip center with a traffic pattern that only a demolition derby fan could appreciate. We do seem to rehire the same engineering firms no matter how little life we get from their efforts. I was raised in a western suburb where they just repaved my parents street for the first time since 1990. I didn't think it was needed. Makes you wonder about the quality we settle for.

I called Metra and was told that the City of Lockport is responsible for the maintenance of the lot. I then called the city and was told by an engineering dept. secretary that no one was available to address my concerns because everyone had left for the day. It was only about three o'clock. Makes me wonder who's watching the contractors after three o'clock?
