I don't see this strike generating much sympathy from the public. What with our skyrocketing real estate taxes, the pension liabilities, and the triple dipping of our elected leaders around here. It all adds up to the public HAVING IT UP TO HERE WITH ALL YOU FREELOADING SOB'S. Try getting a job where you have to make something or do something instead of having no accountability. You always want more. Well, guess what? We're at our limit. You can't have any more. My taxes are high enough where I want to move. That should tell you something. I hope you're all fired and not replaced. I'm taking down my "Proud Onion Home" sign.

Government worker unions are a joke. Unions among workers who have competition, Ok unions, but to represent gov workers. It only breeds patronage and corruption. They are paid for on the back of the taxpayer who is out of dough. Unions have no business being involved with government workers. Instead of Striking be thankful you have a guaranteed job, be thankful you don't have to provide good service, be thankful you have benefits.

You are an idiot. And that is being polite. Too broad brush this whole thing by calling these people Freeloading SOBS, you show your ignorance. You have no idea what you are talking about. Some of these people bust their ass, doing jobs that are vital to the community for very little pay. Go make some more ignorant racist comments towards the POTUS. You seem to be good at that. Some of these people that take of our seniors and that provide vital services for our seniors and mental health patients, make shit for what they are doing. What a jackass. If this is what you call the high road and having a christian attitude, you need to take a good long look in the mirror. I hope you never need help. You pompous ass. Wow you truly are a moron.
Good thing you took all the mirrors down in your house. Did yourself a favor. Name one job where the above occurs. Providing vital services for shit pay. Name one where there is accountability and a very real threat of being fired if said person doesn't deliver as in the case of a job in the real world. Name one! You can't, because public unions hold the public hostage. Withholding their services until they get what they want. Just show up to sleep at your desk or have your buddy clock in for you. Let me guess, you are a proud onion member? Proud and onion don't go together.
Let me reiterate, I am at my limit as to what I will pay you slobbering freeloaders. I'm sure others here are as well. I hope you all are fired and not replaced. We can get along without you.

They rejected a 14% pay increase and 90% of their medical covered by Will County Tax Payers! Your defending these people? This is why Illinois has the lowest credit rating, is broke, and I bet will eventually file bankruptcy!

These workers provide a service to the tax payers of Will County paid for by the Tax Payers of Will County! Their cost is more than we can afford. I resent them strong arming the tax payers demanding what we are going to pay them for their services? Really? Sorry! We get rid of them, take bids from other service providers to meet our budget and needs! Problem solved!

As taxpayers you wish to have all of your municipal needs met but you do not feel it is necessary to pay a fair wage for it based on the fact that you have identified a few bad apples and therefore all municipal employees should be judged by these bad apples and you should get your services at a discount. You further feel that because of the economy these municipal employees should be made to feel the hurt more than you simply because their salaries are generated through the tax base. Basically, you want to be well taken care of, you just don't want to pay for it.

You expect fair compensation for the work you do and yet because municipal employees are paid through your taxes you somehow believe they are less deserving of the money they work to earn.

The money paid to these workers is a fair exchange for services rendered and they are no less deserving of their pay checks than anyone in the private sector and they are no less deserving of the right to expect fair compensation than anyone else. You have a lot of needs in your life....doctors, lawyers, butchers, bakers, roofers, etc......but because municipal needs are paid for and funneled through your taxes you seem to think that the people supplying them to you are less deserving. That makes no sense. It is more likely that these people are just a convenient target and allow you the opportunity to "kick the dog", so to speak.

These employees are taxpayers just like you and they are tapped out just like you. In opposition to you though, they do not think of themselves as the bottom rung of the ladder and you will not think of them that way either when you start to feel the effects of downgraded services.

Both sides are demanding and rejecting. It is called negotiating.......just like your union.

I feel that your trucking costs are more than I can afford. I feel I pay way more than I should for my retail needs due to the strong arm tactics of the trucking industry that helps push up the costs of everything that we need. Someone could easily make the argument that you are not worth what you make.

You supply a service just like these people do. You do not produce a product which is Uni's definition of value of worth. Strictly speaking, I don't think Uni does either.

Bottom line....nobody wants to pay what the other guy is charging no matter which side of the sector line you are standing on. But the fact is that these are all necessary jobs and the fact that certain jobs are paid for through taxes does not lesson their need or make them more deserving of criticism for trying to make a living.

The private sector people never said a word about public employees until they started struggling financially themselves. Now they are all up in arms, crying like spoiled children. When you people were living the good life, a lot of those slobbering, freeloading, public employees were out there working holidays, weekends and evening/overnight shifts for mediocre pay. Yes, there are people who abuse the system, and I'm all for cleaning that mess up, but don't rope every public employee into the same category. Those who think that way disgust me. Talk about self-centered, selfish human beings.

Talk about selfish. These guys get 90% of their health benefits paid for and they want a 14.5% increase in pay? Forget that... Replace them ,talk about greedy! The only ones that lose out again!! Are the tax payers of will and Illinois.
