i agree concerned ft plainer....my point excactly! im sure they r wonderful ppl. but r they doing this for themselves or the children? it is a law that u must be state certified to have a daycare, and have no more than 5 kids per adult. And one of their kids have said that they have kids around the ages of 3. If that's true, then how are they sure growing up around disabled people will not ruin a little one? Especially seeing how two parents can not tend to all the ones who are disabled, how are they going to tend to little ones that still need learning?
How are they sure growing up around disabled people will not ruin a little one????? Are you kidding me??? I would hope as a society we are still not that ignorant to even give such a statement! I have an idea-let's open up huge institutes where all the disabled can live toghether so they won't "ruin" the little ones who aren't disabled...oh wait we tried that route before and the state of NY is still PAYING MILLIONS for that mistake. Really??? That is a concern??? do some research-there are integrated communitites/daycares/preschoo ls all over the country- it tends to teach tolerance It doesn't "ruin" non disabled children! Is that the excuse your parents used for your apparent shortcomings?

Need learning? Who needs learning? If growing up around disabled people will ruin a kid it is no wonder we have so many problems in FP. LOL

Cupcake, did you know that a person in the 40's if was not what you'd call "normal" that person could be placed in "THE INSTITUTIONS",these people became "INSTITUTIONALY RETARDED"This happened especially in the BIG CITIES where families didn't want want a stigma associated with their families, now we have ARC homes thank the LORD.My personal feelings have to do with real mothering, you know how many families give up their lives to care for one child with disabilties?I have a friend,it takes all your energy, but it's your choice,if 1 takes 24/7 tell me how to do justice to 30???

The point being missed here is that not all 30 of these kids are living under one roof- over a course of years the family has raised 30 kids-the age range is quite wide. As for the new children- they are 4 biological siblings. I don't think they care how many kids are in that family when now they have the security of knowing they won't be seperated by the system, no child should be burdened with that fear. I think it is great that they are willing to take hard to place children that would otherwise be lost in the system or never know a stable home. For all the posters who are negative and judgemental-adopt a kid or do foster care- did you ever think that one of the reasons this family is allowed to adopt so much is becasue of the outstanding results of other adoptions? For the posters worried about funding- it takes a lot more $$$ for the state to support foster children and abandoned children with disabilities who become wards of the state then they will ever spend in incentives to adopt.

first of all i never said that growing up with the disabled would make another child disabled..so relax!! i just know that it is hard enough to comfort, teach, and give one child the attention they are deserved.and if they have 30 plus diabled children who need triple the care, how is that one or two children without disabilities getting the proper care?let alone the other 29 kids!! so say we leave out the disabilities.....30 plus kids is just way too many to take care of!!!if u think other wise than ur crazy too. great people,im sure....going overboard with adopting, DEFENITLY!!!!DISAGREE...idc but this is how i feel

some collect old cars, they collect chilren with needs, not a bad thing if they have the time and energy. I do not see these kids out running the streets or sitting in the park. If they grow up to be an asset to our society nice work Mrs. Jackson

Have been reading all the posts, these children are probably the happiest children in the universe, people that care, clean clothes, food, roof over head, people telling them they have a great life ,better than they would have ever had in their country.

God bless them. All of the children seem happy and are very polite and great students too. If this is the result I hope they adopt 30 more children. Most people have a hard time handling even 1 or 2 children.

nys state law doesnt mean shit to this school.you explain to my son why he cant attend school here because they dont wanna deal with his problems but if he belonged to the jacksons they would fall all over him.i had her removed from my childs iep meeting.just because shes raising kids with needs does not make her an expert on all handicaps.but then no ones elses kids are as disabled as hers i guess

then mommy or daddy dose not wish to fight for their child, or you are a liar i had no problems getting my child the help she needed, sounds like you just have a hate for this women and some one with one on one experience. with special needs kids has my vote over a person that is only book smart on it.
like i said leave the family alone i am sorry you do not know how to fight for your child if your story was true you would have went to the news already on it

what is the level of you child ld or disability? trust me if your child has need one 5 min spot on the tv news will get the job done.
a good media spin goes long way, a lawyer can go unheard by the people and government reps out side the school system. a state legislator or congress person finds out about your child's needs not being meet. will cause a look in to how state and fed funds that are earmarked for special needs is spend. most people do not know these funds are just for the handicapped. only from the state and fed and can only be used for that as in house or to send the kids out of house where their needs can be met.
and i am sorry i though you was some one down on special needs kids. i hope things work out but do use the tv media local and state/national and contact you state/fed rep
