I would think this might be considered an assault, not just a hazing with sexual overtones.

Hypothetical here: If it weren't students but someone else that did this would they not be charged with sexual assault?

In this day & age these boys should know better. What happened to making them paint their faces and wear silly clothes? That is what initiations were when I was in school.(thank goodness I never participated in an activity that would have subjected me to that)

I don't think it's all that bad.TOO far....Maybe?

If it had been me that got tea bagged I would just do something just as nasty back like get some fum-unda cheese and smear it across his upper lip and call it even.Going to the police would never have crosse my mind.Fight fire with fire.

I know what you mean.Don't get me wrong they need to be held accountable and a 5 day suspension is fair maybe a little harsh but fair. For me taking it any futher is absurd. They weren't forced into doing anything and no one was physically hurt just some ego's and that's it.

Interesting that only the mother of one of the several boys is quoted - and none of the fathers.

"These kids feel vulnerable, humiliated and degraded" Uh. That's the entire point of an initiation, regardless of the exact form it takes. It makes the acceptance "on the other side" mean that much more.

"If this was done to girls" but it wasn't, so what's your point? If it was done to dogs it would be bestiality.

"degraded by someone you look up to is just horrifying" again: That's the point.

Delta county's budget is apparently too large. Taxpayers, take note: This is the most important "crime" in your county. I suggest cutting some funding.

It's a slightly sick-and-twisted teenage prank. Let it go.

I agree with you to a point Iggy. They did go to far and it did cross the line.I would never encourage these things or say that it's ok.They are being punished for what they have done.

My feelings is that these are boys being dumb boys is all.I don't think these 5 boys really meant any harm.5 is the same number of starters for a baseketball team right. So it sounds they were just getting the "alpha male" thing out in the open so to speak.Yes I'm sure it wasn't fun for the so called "victims" but I'm sure they'll be just fine. Our kids are growing up in a "jackass show" state of mind expecially for boys so this kind of stupid stuff happens all the time we just don't hear about it.Remember shopping cart thread? Same thing stupid boys being stupid.

I just can't see taking this any further. To charge these boys with a sexual crime would mean they would have to register as a sex offender.A huge price to pay for being stupid and having fun that got out of hand.If the "victims" were female it would be a different story.

I'm not trying to change your mind about how you feel.I just want to let you know what I was thinking.

these boys got suspended for an extra 10 days on top of the original 5, after the extra 10 days they will have to go up against the school board for expulsion.

Being that they participated of their own free will would loose a case for any sexual charges, but your right boys being stupid for sure.

Maybe a suspension from a few games would drill the point home that maybe initiations shouldn't be so "jackass" (I love that reference) like & more painting and dressing up silly for the "embarassment" factor.

I guess I just don't understand the whole "alpha" male thing with us humans, I am sure glad I don't have to live up to some imaginary ego thing like that. No offense, not all men are like this, but I do see alot of it in all ages of men. Even my easy going husband pops off with a screwed up remark every now & then I just can't grasp. LOL

But your right I am not sure sense the "consented" that there is a sexual crime here.

No offense taken. But you have no idea how men can be.I work with men that their ages go from 20's to late 50's and they still do it try to be the "tough guy".It really is lame,I still fall into it at times.I know who I am and what I stand for so I don't get involved in it much but it happens.

As far as these boy and what they did maybe sitting out the rest of the season would get the point across for them and any future "jackasses".

I agree these boys went too far and need to be punished. I don't feel they should be prosecuted but it's too bad how some people react when their babies start growing up. My understanding is all are off the team and will be seeing the school board. These kids are good kids. Is expultion the answer? I think it's too much but it might be better for them than to have to go back.

I am a member of the team, and no one in here has the slighest clue what happened. Iggy needs to stop commenting on this topic, like honestly you must not have a life if all you do is read about "Hazing incidents" and ones that havent even occured in your town. Its funny how people will be so quick to talk about the bad things that happened to the team, but what about the fact that Roughriders have played two games since the suspensions and have won both in astonishing fashion defeating the number 3 and number 7 teams in the state when we are ranked number 8. Maybe you should focus a little more on you and not the mistakes of others

Yet we still have kids that commit "Columbine". Gee I wonder why. Just because they are so called kids, I guess we are suppose to accept it and sweep these kinds of acts under the carpet. I'm sure none of us would confess if it happened to us..huh? Why? It's degrading and embarrassing. They deserved 5 days suspension.

Why don't you go back to less sick & twisted initiations and grow up a bit. Hanging your genitals in the faces of your new peers is at the very least disgusting and the very worst bordering criminal. If they weren't willing participants it would have been criminal.

I have a life and have been here discussing news topics for some time, I didn't just pop online because I heard some adults were discussing how unintelligent, childish & twisted this whole incident was.

I hope your mom & dad ground your ass for life over this stupid & disgusting stunt. Tea bagging your friends, Hmmmmm did you want them to do something else? Why on earth would put your penis & testicles in your friends face? You need to grow up little boy!
