It time again for NEWS
Johnston City Council met last Tuesday. After patting each on the back for 30 Minutes they concluded the meeting. This mayor and council coming up with a new idea at these meetings is rarer than a white man in a McDonald's commercial.
Still no treasurer's report. At least once a year the town would like to see how our money is being spent.
In social news, could wedding bells be in the works for JC's most infamous couple? It seems Penny Cobb, West Stallings, etc. is now a free woman. Her divorce was final the first of November. For those of you keeping score, the last husband won.
The Park board met last Monday. A motion was made to charge for the campground chapel but it died with no second. All was not lost the goof troop had a idea to take 10% from Sunday church collections. Two guys named Rico and Mickey the Nose will be taking the city's cut next Sunday.
It seems the Keith Boyd express has become a subway. Boyd is still on the planning commission and Penny still heads vision 20/20. Boyd is still calling the shots folks.
This is your action news reporter signing off. And may the good news be yours

You left out Bart Lind got a new squeeze horn for his scooter, and then tried to pass it off as a gang club member type motorcycle at the "Cheeseball's" tavern.
He offered to have his old lady flash the guys if they would respect his "cycle", but they all agreed she had nothing to flash.

These peoples claim to fame is that they call themselves "business men" If they are good business men they would never get involved in politics. Whatever side your on your going to make people mad, those people are potential customers. There are a number of business people in JC that refuse to run for office, they have political views and those views are respected. Boyd is a great example, man had it all. He has now lost is reputation and soon his business because he became the goof troops savior. Michael Jordan the great basketball player said it best when someone ask him to endorse a democratic candidate, he said, "republicans buy my shoes too"

A Goof Troop party was held at the Lineman's yesterday. Kathy Fox sang "My stinky smoke gets in your eyes," joined by her cousin Chuck E "Cheese" Crabtree singing "Why are they always picking on me?"
Connie Oliver and Mary Jane Hatfield performed "Crying in the chapel," Keith Boyd sang a very emotion filled "Young girl" bringing tears to Penny's eyes.
Bart Lind kept trying to talk and Boyd and Mitchell kept telling him "we used you now go away."
Jim Mitchell brought everyone to their feet with his version of "Big girls don't cry," backed up by Barb Buckner, Amy Lind and Penny Cobb West Stallings, Boyd,?
The night was closed out with a waltz performed by John Richey and Virginia Burton, and Mitchell reading his favorite story "How the Grinch stole Christmas."

Just paid my water bill. Jim Mitchell was out in front of city hall dressed as Santa with a bag of toys. He was shouting " Ho Ho Ho! Who wants to buy some toys? 9.25 tax rate on each toy and a $35 fee for each toy!"

In the extended director 's cut Scrooge ( Keith Boyd) takes in a penniless prostitute. In the end she leaves him broke and pennieless.
