How about a non parent coach?
Parent - not the issue

The last coach was not a parent, and look what that got us. What the high school needs is a coach that is interested in the team. The most recent coach actually quit on the girls before the season got going. Even when she was present it was only physically, never mentally. She completely quit caring about the team for some reason. What an unfair way to treat a fine group of girls who really wanted to play volleyball.
The coach and assistant prior to that were nothing more than a bad joke. They actually cancelled a practice and had the girls feed each other pudding! Really!
The high school hasn't had a decent coach since O'bright. Sure she had a problem or two, but the bottom line was that she wanted to see the team continually improve.
I would much rather see a parent who is interested take over the team, than the mess we have had for our last two coaches (and the assistant).

Isn't Smiley only a Jr.? Her mother is pretty good and has done it for some of the other programs for years so you could try her.

Keep your hate re: softball out of it. She does pretty good withthe Volleyball teams.

well, that is an issue. However, I don't care what you think of her as a person/coach/whatever, there isn't much you can say about Alison. She is a great athlete and doesn't need "highlighted." Plus, D-1 athletes who already have a scholarship don't need much Highlighting anyway.
axe it

If the district was truly i girlsnterested in these childrens' future, they would cut volleyball as an extracurricular activity. Use the time &money to further exercise the students brains. Unless one thinks that Johnston City Volleyball is going to somehow become a scholarship mill for the unfortunate there.
