Separation of church and state? Show where it is in the constitution and I will gladly follow it. How dare they have something that helps people!

The bible says "you can't serve two masters". What kind of behavior do you expect form the current leaders of this town? Lies, adultery, as for theft, we don't know because we haven't seen a treasurer's report since they look office. It's no surprises that this group would go after a place of worship.

I heard this morning Mary Jane Hatfield of the park board has contacted that athiest guy to shut down the chapel. This comes as no surprise since the only one of administration that attends church is Mitchell and he was kicked off his Sunday school position!

The ones on the board were appointed by Mitchell, Boyd and Lind.
They should (will) be held accountable for their actions.
By the way, Lenda Rains attends church on a regular basis.

I have no idea if they pay for electricity, I'm not that petty to think about that

Got an idea. Let's keep the chapel open and close a bar.

Or close down a couple of insurance agencies by boycotting their businesses.

Heard there's been a compromise in the campground chapel issue. The chapel will remain open if gay marriage can be performed.

i have never seen such a bunch of mean spirited gossipers in my life. you want to keep the chapel open? it doesn't seem to be doing any of you a bit of good. why don't you all crack the book you are so passionate about now and then and stop judging everyone constantly. stop your gossiping. that would inspire people to your cause not make them want to run away from people like you screaming.

It perfectly all right to close a chapel or "rent it out" because what they say may goes against "certain kinds of life styles". Its time for this town to take a moral stand. Its proven by the the last two years immorality not getting us anyplace. The chapel should remain open to anyone without a rental fee. It amazes me that this group wants to charge the people of JC for goods and services that they already are paying for with thier tax dollars.

that had nothing to do with what i said. it had nothing to do with rental fees. if you want to deal with immorality, people need to deal with their own before picking on others. the ugliness, lies, slander, gossip, etc. has been coming out of the mouths of plenty of people claiming to stand up for christianity. all i am saying is, you can't give people the finger if you have a fish sticker on your car. love and kindness should be at the root of how you treat people. if it isn't, then you aren't representing christianity anyways, you just want something to argue about.

What are the real reasons/motives behind changing anything then?
The park board members are appointed by the mayor, the mayor is elected by the people.
The people should have an answer why this is going on.
Again, none of this was ever a problem until one person got put on the park board.

I think you give the people the finger if they deserve the finger. Trying to close a chapel or make money by "renting it out" is wrong on so many levels. It all comes down to a mayor who afraid to stand up to one individual. That's leadership. If you put this up for a vote 99% of the people in JC would vote to leave the chapel alone.

You now speak for 99% of JC residents?
