<quoted text>You see, Jenny, the news media is focusing on stories that hit home with certain audiences and they embroider and exaggerate the actual focus of any issue. More or less, they prey on emotions to get us all off the real subject. I mean, if a bill hits the Senate concerning, lets say.........a tax break for the fashion industry: Next thing you know it has become a smokescreen, depending on your station in life. Then, some talking head claims it is somehow linked to discrimination against women, poor people, transsexuals, men with beards, people who dip snuff, folks with hook noses, etc.; is racially motivated, communist, right wing, left wing, socialist, a hate crime or whatever bleeding heart controversy is drawing attention at the time! Let's face it, the media and politicians are hand in hand and put a spin on every damn thing to garner support for an issue that has been expanded beyond its intent and has nothing to do with facts. For every Fox News or CNN there is a reverse mirror image. In this day and age when the media and their puppet masters twist and bend every issue, it pays to ignore 99% of what you hear from them.
Bills in the legislature and actions in congress are real. I can list a lot by the Republican Party pertaining to women since 2008 if you wish.

I'm sure similar pending bills are to be found from both parties to Congress. It's not the bill so much as the riders attached to it that usually reveal the excuse for many of the bills (and the $$ to be made from it)in the first place. One could probably list as many bills "pertaining" to women proposed by the Democrats too, but as I said, it is subject to editing according to what you are told it means after it goes through the sifter.

Maybe you are just looking in the wrong places or hearing some unilateral news opinion. I apologize, looking back on some of my post I realized it might sound like I was trying to talk down to you. That truly wasn't my intention. I'm sure you have a mind of your own and therefore form your own opinions. I reckon we just disagree, but that's both our rights. At least we still have that going for us in America.

No problem. I thought at first that you were dissing me. But it's cool now.

A friend and I are going to do a thread on women's issues. We looked at both Parties. Things they done, bills they have submitted, blocked, or fought against. Statements they have made pertaining to women. We found very little done by the Democrats which was adverse to women which was specifically aimed at us. The Republican Party was a different story. We have so far what we estimate is approximately enough to cover about ten Topix pages. All only since 2010. And we aren't done yet. We want to post it on diferent forums when it gets closer to the election.

If I remember this thread (the one you and I are on right now) I'll post a link to our thread when the election gets here.

This one isn't by a politician, although in 2012 he traveled and campaigned with the main Republican Presidential candidate (Romney).....

Jenny, I hope during your "research" that you and your friend look beyond the liberal rhetoric and take notice of how the Democrats used women and their issues to get passed certain bills that could not have been passed any other way. Take the time to read the bills and take note of exactly what the Republicans were voting against instead of relying on liberal media headlines telling you that the Repubs have declared war on women.

I would hope that you are smart enough to realize that it would be political suicide for Republicans to oppose many bills pertaining to women's issues without just cause. I think if you do your due diligence in truly searching for the truth, you will be highly upset as to how you and other women across the country were used by the Democratic party to try and fulfill their agenda. Many leading Democratic strategists have alluded to this ruse on many occasions and have actually applauded themselves for doing so.....all at your expense.

If there's any cults out there, they are Liberty University and the 700 Club and now Billy Graham's son is coming up as a weirdo. Geez. These people have no idea who Christ is.

By the way. Virginia tech has Liberty University on their football schedule in 2015 and there is a petition going around that has over 600,000 names protesting playing them. I'm on it. They are a freak show, not a college. Jerry Falwell was a fat, pill popping divisive idiot (no offense), people will follow a Hitler and a freak before they will follow a true statesman.... Rick Santorums wife had a stillborn. They brought it home dead. Had the children hold it. Slept with it that night and buried it in the back yard the next day. Perfectly normal. Yeah, I want him to have the nuclear codes......

What does that have to do with anything? The point is that there is not a liberal media. Fox is right wing, Msnbc is left. If anything the radio media is dominated by the right! George Carlin said it best, he said, "When I was young we used to get 24 hours worth of news in 30 minutes, now we get 30 minutes worth of news in 24 hours". As long as a person is able to recognize opinion from news and fact they are OK.

How are you able to discern fact from opinion when relevant issues are being ignored by the liberal media. As I have mentioned numerous times before and never seem to get a response from you liberals, if Bush had been involved in the IRS scandal, the Benghazi scandal, the Fast and Furious scandal, the NSA scandal, caught in repeated lies, would he have gotten the free pass that Obama has? No one can dispute that they would have shredded him to pieces. Knowing that to be the fact and knowing that Obama has been given numerous liberties by the media, yes, there does exist a liberal media. Any one with a scant amount of intelligence can see that...if you're looking.

Remember, the ostrich hiding his head in the sand is usually the first to get bit in the ass. Open your eyes, Needed, you're being played the fool.

This is the elite Republicans which had the backing of their Party until it was narrowed down to only one to run against the Democrats. They had even elected Santorum to Senate.

Who are the elite chosen by the Republicans that they thought worthy to run for President?

Santorum, I already mentioned him.

One when private sector had sexually harassed several women co-workers (more than one) and in one of those he did what to me was really sexual assault, he attempted to forcefully pull up her skirt.

One when he was dissing Bill Clinton about cheating on his wife was he himself (Newt) bonging an aide in his office supply room. He got caught by his wife and she divorced him. That was the second wife that divorced him for cheating. What platform did he run for President under ..... family values.

Another one (Romney) was a cold blooded corporate raider. Remember his view of women? They are binders full of women. While he became Governor women in higher state positions in his state drastically dropped from 42 percent down to 25 percent in only 2 1/2 years and they (the women) were replaced with men, not other women. What causes skilled professional women to leave at that rate in such a very short time? Dropping 42 percent down to only 25 percent?

So you're one of those women who believe that a woman should be given a position just because she's a woman. Let's take a brief look at just a few of Obama's female appointees. Janet Napolitano - even the students at uber-liberal UC Berkeley were prepared to cast a no-confidence vote on her because of her incessant policies on spying on Americans. Hillary Clinton - ignored repeated requests for extra security in Benghazi that ultimately led to the deaths of several Americans. Kathleen Sebelius - wow, just wow. If her ineptness wasn't so detrimental to our country her appointment might be just plain comical.

Yet, let a female Republican seek office and the liberals pounce on her like a pack of wolves on a lamb. And what about NOW coming to the defense of Bachman and Palin? I guess they only care about the betterment of women who share their same beliefs. I guess the hypocrisy of the left escapes you, doesn't it?

Pounce on women Republicans? Where do you get that? The women ones in Senate and the House are usually the only ones working in favor of helping people and have even been downed by their fellow congressmen for going against the Party in things they (the women) see as beneficial. For example, they were the only Republicans which voted for the VAWA. And they took heat from the Party for it.

Did you know there's a regular meeting that's not on the books where all the women from the Republican, Democrat, and independent Parties (Senate and House) meet and discuss what needs doing in pertaining to present problems and political issues? Have you seen the men attempt to work together to help America?

Am I defending all of them? Nope. There's a few, Sarah Palin for example, that shouldn't even be elected as a dog catcher......

"What's the difference between selling out your party's values and the oldest profession?"

Guess what he just called her.

You're too blind and biased to even realize how hypocritical you are. The media is only as liberal as the station you choose to watch just as other media is only as right wing as what you choose to watch (i.e. Fox). And to answer your question on Bush, he got more of a pass than Obama ever will. At least Obama hasn't lied to the world to start two wars and kill hundreds of thousands of people (including over 4000 US servicemembers) in the process.
