This entire committee to pick a Judge who appoints these members? With the experience and integrity of Dennis Brooks and he was not even a finalist come on now! Well one thing for sure in 2014 when the voters instead of politicians make the choice it will be very different.

Depends upon whether there is redistricting.

If redistricting happens, Brooks won't be able to beat Lincoln...and that's too bad.

If no redistricting... he won't beat any of the three on the commission list.

How can you be the Chief Asst. District Attorney as Dennis Brooks is for Tony Clarke and file BANKRUPTCY? Is this really true? From what i know Gene Scott would make a very fair Judge, even though there is no doubt Stacy Street is the best Criminal Defense Attorney in East Tennessee.

I sure am glad that Judge Robert Lincoln was not picked and did not get many votes. He is not a good Judge in my opinion. I had from a person at the hearings that the panel told him that they had received many letters telling them what "snob" he was on the bench and I understand he had the most complaints. He would be a much better used car salesman. I am glad the board did there homework. I also understand that in the forum that some board members told Lincoln how he was disliked. Wish I knew it was an open meeting. Wonder why the local press and tv does not get on to the Lincoln story here.

Lincoln got hammered in the hearings; Street and Finney are the most qualified; Scott doesnt have the experience yet and having smokey the bear Bob Green as your mouthpiece didnt help.........
Lincoln will have some competition in 2014 I would guess....

Dennis is a decent prosecutor now. However early in his career he couldnt win a jury trial. There was a stretch where he lost like 6 jury trials in a row in Carter County. He has gotten better in evaluating and handling his cases, but he is not on the pedestel you put him on Supporter.
I would think noone except his family would say he was the VERY BEST EVER around here..........

Has the Governor ever selected the replacement for Judge Brown? Doesn't he retire next week?
