Looking to purchase new furniture. Which place in Johnson City has the best selection at a fair price?

Around here, Zaks seems to have the best quality. Most places sell a lot of the cheap stuff though, like Big Lots type furniture. Braden's in Knoxville is not bad either.

Anybody know who is the best for blinds?

I'm extremely picky.. Went around to several places and Ashley Furniture honestly gave me the best customer service and best selection as far as nice looking furniture.. Plus they offer 5 years no finance charges a lot... Can't think of the womens name that helped us but she is a older women with blonde hair and she was great.. If it wasn't 1am and husband wasn't sleeping I'd go in and get papers and give you her name but don't won't to wake him up considering he has to be at work at 4am but hopefully remember and let you know her name later...

I'm not super picky about furniture stores, but I do like the ones that have a wide selection. There are always new styles that are worth trying out when you go to the furniture store. I also like it when they're not anxious to make a sale. Any of the ones that give you the information you need and then leave you to make the decision are the best. http://www.furnitureclassicsak.org/

I want to get some new furniture for my house. When we first moved in we got IKEA furniture, and that has worked great up until now. I think I want something a little bit fancier, but not something that is going to cost an arm and a leg. I'm open for any suggestions. http://www.salvagewarehouses.com/

There are a couple of good furniture stores in Johnson City that sell quality pieces. I don't want to sponsor any one store, but I will state Ashley furniture is very low end. In my humble opinion, buy quality if you can. If you can't, then wait until you can. It is always cheapest to only buy it once.

I love shopping for furniture, even though I rarely buy. I like the Restoration Hardware look, but can't afford their pricing. I think I have been in every furniture store in the region including Knoxville and Asheville. My favorites in the region are Tyson's near Asheville, O.P. Jenkins in Knoxville and I like Zak's here in Johnson City as well. I saw a couple of people mention Ashley and IKEA and like the poster above, think they might have a younger, more modern look, but both companies pride themselves on making cheap furniture look good. They are both sort of like Rooms2Go minus the "rooms" setup. I suspect all chain stores follow this same concept. Just my two cents.

I fully agree on your Rooms2Go reference. What a bunch of cheap furniture! I learned my lesson the hard way. I hate to admit it, but my first sofa came from Big Lots. After that, I realized you get what you pay for. I shopped in Knoxville at R2G and saw the same things sold in Big Lots. Eventually bought a sofa here in JC and love it even though it costs a lot more than my first one. Oh well!

Maybe you should try to look for furniture at online stores? I also want to buy furniture for my hallway. I like for example those - http://www.impactfurniture.co.uk/entrance_hal... Sometimes you can find furniture with good prices, you just spend some time for searching :)

That seemd like a good idea when I purchased an accent chest on-line. It came in damaged and my only recourse was to pay to ship it back and pay to ship another one to me. I have found that most of the on-line stores regarding furniture have costly stipulations on returns or refunds that are hidden in their terms of service. Beware of on-line, ofr furniture that is.

Also, the link you provided is in England. There is no recourse for damaged or incorrect items coming from overseas. The rare exception would be a costly experience to send something back. I would run from this buying opportunity.
