Are Private Schools a must?

My family and I are considering moving to Johnson City, but I am concerned with the state of the public school system. The public system we are currently in is ranked well in our state (ID) and I want to make sure if we move my children will be able to get a great education without us paying an arm and a leg for it. Are there public schools that rank well in this area, or is private schooling necessary.

I don't know who ranked JC Schools but here's what I see a lot of around here. Many of the kids seem to be taught to spell like they talk. I've seen quite a few that don't know the difference between
sale and sell
to too and two
their they're and there
you're and your
want and won't
ten and tin
