Dr. Moran is currently my family physician and I have never had a bad visit with him. However I know some people that has went to him that hated him because he wouldnt give them the drugs that he wanted. He very rarely writes meications unless he knows that they are truly needed. which is how a doctor should be he needs to protect his practice and be able to support his family. Every time I have been there he has been nothing but professional with me and my children and his staff is absolutely great. My insurance was refusing to pay for some of my tests and rather then making me pay it out of my pocket they contacted my insurance company several times to get it covered.

That tells me that the folks complaining here are probably seeking Oxys... Probably trying to get him to run every test he could to see if there was any possible way to get some drugs. lol

Doctors are smarter than you. They've seen scenarios play out a million times with requests for tests and have a good gauge(usually) for what is and isn't necessary and what insurance will cover.

If he was rude to you and husseled you off as a patient, then he probably didn't want to be your doctor and knew you wouldn't come back.

I have been seeing Dr. M. for about three years and he is great. You drug seekers need to go perhaps to a subox clinic instead of trying to obtain drugs from a family physician. Dr. M. has always been attentive, caring and right on spot with every single ailment I've been to him with. He and his office staff are great.

He is a great doctor and I have been seeing him for years. If you want pain killers go elsewhere for sure!

I've been seeing Dr. Moran for a year now & I find him to be completely competent in his diagnosis, intuitive & trustworthy. His bedside manner is very matter-of-fact yet personable. I've never felt dismissed or little in his eyes. From what I have witnessed I believe had you voiced your concerns with him or his staff, you would have received a resolution be it an apology or maybe a conclusion that a Dr./patient relationship just wasn't the best for both parties involved, as is the case with my daughter. I am happy I found Dr. Moran while she cannot stand him and goes elsewhere. Itís just different strokes for different folks. Might he have been having a bad day? Maybe/maybe not but after all he is human. We are all guilty at one time or another in our lives of treating others poorly for something or someone else caused.

We really need to stop using the internet to voice complaints except as an absolute last resort to resolve an issue. We need to stop hiding behind the veil of anonymity & stand up directly to the person involved. Sometimes complaints made on the internet are never even known to the person or business therefore never giving the complainant a chance to provide a resolution. Not saying anyone on here is guilty of that, itís just my observation lately about sites that are being used to complain about people/businesses without first going to the complainant. It is my opinion that our ability to resolve issues face to face is dying off.

I saw Dr. Moran with severe joint/muscle pain complaints in 2008. I told him I wanted xrays of my back and hips and a vitamin panel. He refused saying blood work was too expensive(I'm uninsured). He promptly diagnosed me with Lyme Disease without blood work and treated me with long term aggressive antibiotics that didn't help. He didn't really care about my pain level. Now, after years of pain and severe muscle spasms in my back and neck and legs I find out I have a host of back injuries and scoliosis. All Dr. Moran had to do was take some xrays. Now, I'm looking at surgery. I'd advise EVERYONE NOT to see him. HE IS ABSOLUTELY NEGLIGENT AND INCOMPETENT. To be fair, you will be hard pressed to find any decent PCP's around here if you have any REAL problem and have no insurance. I looked for a couple of years before I finally gave up and ended up in the ER......twice.

It's pointless to go to Dr Moran I wasted about a year on him.. He prescribed me pain pills once and I didn't get them filled right off cause I waited til I actually needed them.. Next time I went in he questioned why I waited a couple weeks to have them filled I told him I had a few and didn't take them unless I need them he said it sounded "fishy".. Why? If I was a druggie I'd got them filled as soon as I left the visit.. He made me feel awful.. As well as every single visit I wasted my money having to listen to him complain about how crazy his ex wife was.. And make fun of the family doctor that I use to have that I loved dearly a good doctor I just couldn't go to him cause he didn't take my insurance at the time.. That to me was very unprofessional.. Every single visit I felt like I should of made him pay to be my shrink.. An then one time I ran out of my blood pressure meds and called his office to call them in another time my heart meds.. In a year I only called twice for a refill when I went back to him he had his staff talk to me about not calling and bothering them basically that they would have to charge me if I called for a refill and like i said it was a heart pill and BP pill nothing narcotic .. That's the last time I seen him and I wouldnt recommend my dog for his services.. So in short there's enough on here saying the same things about him.. All I can say is don't waste your money listening to a unprofessional doctor talk about other doctors, patients and his crazy ex wife..

It's funny those on here calling those that don't like this doctor a druggie!! Go figure the iggnorane of these low lifes.. Can't wait til they get knocked off their high horse they out themselves on.. Because last time I checked I'm pretty sure God was the only one to judge but hey if you think your better than him and keep judging everyone then I pray for you.. Maybe the ones that like him get a good prescription of their drugs of choice or maybe the ones putting all these people down that don't like him are family, staff or the good doctor himself.. I went to him I have a deterating spine, a bulging disk in back and neck, arthritis and I got pain meds from him cause I need them.. However I still walked out the door because like someone said I was tired of hearing him talk about his ex, other doctors and many other patients.. And I also got ask not to call for a refills and all I called for was a arthritis medicine.

I have to say... I'm completely confused by all the negative postings about Dr. Moran. I've dealt with severe depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder for fifteen years. Complete chemical imbalance with no relief. I've been to more doctors than I can count trying to find a solution with few positive results. I finally found Dr. Moran and could not be more pleased. He's a sweetheart and talks to me like we've known each other out entire lives. He prescribed a medication no other doc had ever even mentioned. I finally found my relief thanks to him. I hate to hear there have been negative experiences... I don't understand that. Maybe he's just a personality alot of people don't know how to take? Most people expect a certain personality from a doctor, just because he talks to you like he would someone he's known forever doesn't mean he's incompetent. I absolutely love him. I can't thank him enough. No personality suits everyone, and the man is human. I can assure you that if he ever made any of you feel you were a waste of time, he didn't mean to at all. I don't have insurance, paid the 75 for the visit and left with answers. I would've paid 100 times that for a solution and I thank him for finding one.

Great doctor. He has a general dislike for insurance companies, but who doesn't? Last time I went he did everything he could do to save me money.

Hey there, did you want him to pay for your xrays, too? Wow, I'd say with pain like yours, you probably needed some oxys, right?

The reason I came across this is I googled his name to find his phone number. I went to him two years ago and he was very attentive and concerned about the problem I was having. He was the only doc I have seen in a long while who did what I needed.
I hadn't needed to see a doc for a long time after, and this time I went to ETSU physicians. Horrible mistake. They have treated me like garbage and that's why I am searching for Doc Morans number. I am going to go back to who I know will care about the problem.
Sorry to hear some people haven't had good experiences with him. I will have to say I was very pleased.

Never had a problem. He's always been great. Basically, all of you bitching about him obviously need to find a doctor that's willing to give you the pain meds. Bet most of you are all about this Obamacare too. What's that tell ya. Frankly, he's a great doc.

Dr. Moran is awesome---always makes me feel comfortable. If you are a person who likes someone who is not uptight---then Dr. Moran will be for you.
I have never left his office, without being made happy about something, and he treats me for several conditions.

I don't believe you either. If you're going to lie, at least make it believable. So we wouldn't give you narcotics. Go somewhere else, because you sure as hell aren't going to get them from Dr. M. He is a great doctor and if you have a problem with him, well sister, you've got more problems that that, I'm sure.
