Has anyone had the experience of being hired by a temp employment agency for employment at TPI and just a few days before your 90 day temp employment is completed, you are terminated saying that you are no longer needed, but you are aware that they are still bringing new employees in who are training for the same position you had??

No repremands only comments on the good job you are doing while employed..

They get around the system by doing that. System being taxes, pay, etc, etc. Ask the temp agency to see their contract with TPI or better yet, go the HR office @ TPI and ask them to see tne employment contract. It should be available to you or anyone else. After all it has all your personal data, IE, social security, etc.

I work there now and I see people come and go and be glad you are gone, We dont have no benifits but if you look at the owners drives a new BMW suv and the other a new Cadilac. I have been there 6 yrs and I hate it but if you are black or mexican you got a heads up on getting on cause the HR woman is half black and half mexican I think. But I bet they have ins and stuff.They laid off some of its supervisors back in the spring that was good, worked for some of them and they treated me fair but they where complaining about not getting paid good and them lying to them and thats they supervisors. Take my advice count your blessing you are gone.

Well I can see from the post on here that things have not changed there at TPI in the last six years. I can tell you there is a lot better jobs out there than that one. Mac D,s is even better.I was there six yrs ago working just about everywhere there and it was the same everywhere, I was a leader but no ins then also and would give you a five dollar Christmas gift. I was offered a supervisors job and was told it would have great benifits and pay. Ya right 27500 plus vacation. Just like wheres the beef I was asking wheres the benifits. I feel sorry for people having to work there cause there is better jobs out there.Im still on the clock pay but make a lot more than there 27500 plus I do have benifits.P.s If you want to see two people that thinks there poop doesnt stink just check out the henry family . His name is Bobby and his sister is Kaye I think but never met her but heard just how she was a big Bitch and I could see that to how they pay and treat people. Heard Bobby just built a new home for around 600,000 grand and you can do that when you dont do your employee,s good. It will come back on both of them.Thank goodness im not there now.

After being laid off for over a year from another welding joy,got on at TPI and was glad to be back to work and hoping for steady employment. Sure felt like I had the rug pulled out from under me. Had no idea that this was how they did their employees..

Anyone know of jobs locally in the welding field???

Let me tell you how stupid this place is and how sorry they are, I worked on second shift and I had a Supervisor that had us all working and no problems except the days wouldnt work due to the boss there is dumb and now I see why cause he doesnt care where or what you do.But the one that got all the work done they laid him off and kept a loser. That just shows there mind set. Also these other post are rigth we have no ins or nothing and my boss told me before he left he was not making that much. If there is a place hiring that has ins post so I will know thanks

The owner drives a bmw, as does his son, who is a dealer, and been to jai. I wont ever work there again. Youd think if hed pay all that money to keep his son out of jail, hed pay his employees better!!!!

Last time I checked Tennessee was a "right to work state" if you don't like where you are, then you are free to leave (as you did). Don't blame the owners of the company for your pitiful life living in a trailer somewhere because you decided to be a lazy uneducated ass. Instead, why don't you start your own company and compete with them? Or are you too stupid? Perhaps your only recourse is to call people names on a website anonymously? Get a life bitch. I posted the first topic on TPI.

I only wanted to know if others had experienced being let go right before their probation period was up.

I did not want this topic to go in the direction it has gone; the name calling, the abuse to a persons name.

I will say the almost 90 days of work there was o.k. Was treated o.k. by all.

Yes, I worked at TPI for over twenty years. They do the temps that way all the time and have for years. My time there was mostly ok, but I was full time. Granted the paid isn't much, but it's a job. To get hired full-time, you really have to have a perfect track record, no time out of work,no being late or leaving early, just be a major suckup basically. Then again their work is seasonal, no need to hire full time when 90 days from temps pretty well covers the busy season.Not much help if your the employee, but makes great sense for the company to work that way. It's all about the bottom line. Like it or not that is how the majority of companies work these days. Out of there and glad of it!

Idk if ur a racist or wat but my fiance got hired on as a temp and he is"black" and he wrkd his a*$ off. And they tld him he did a good job and he got laid off. And frm the way ur tlkn ur not blk or half and u still have a job right? Dnt put blks on blast like tht. U better hope tht ur half blk and mexican boss dnt c this and tlk to her lawyers and get a warrant for ur ip address. Tht was a racist slander and she wld have a case against u. Now I have a friend tht wrks there and she is white and has bn there for many yrs and a family member tht is "black" tht has bn there many yrs. I thnk its due to them bein loyal and hard wrkers. Not siding with TPI st all. I knw yhey do ppl wrong but its not a race thing.

I doubt you put much more thought into your response than you did with your lame MTV text mode typing. If you want to impress anyone, try typing in English instead of kid stuff. As for TPI, they are playing the same game as most companies now. Temp agencies and their hosts skirt the law and have been given free reign to do so with the government/business alliance.

Yes, you asked a question and some posters turned it into a free for all. It's a shame when someone wants a reasonable answer and only gets insults aimed at posters. But, on the subject, I worked at TPI way back in the 1970's. It wasn't bad then, but I am sure it is worse now, as far as becoming permanent. I'm sure you were a victim of the current economy and the outsourced/temp/disposable work force the government has allowed employment to become. About the only way to a permanent job nowadays is through the Temp agencies. It's a crapshoot, depending on what kind of deal they have between them. Just saying, I'm sure you were a good worker and was not let go due to your work performance. Some of these temp agencies are fly by night, but I do recommend Adecco. Good luck!
