Um, if Ted Cruz was born with dual citizenship at the time of his birth, then he is indeed a natural born citizen.<quoted text> Section 1 article two of the United States Constitution, No person except a natural born citizen or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this constitution shall be eligible to the office of president; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.
Instead of trying to twist the law out of all intended purpose, and use tortured logic (like the 5 liberal justices of the Supreme Court do all the time), why not just step back and consider what is the original color of the law to start with?
The purpose of the law was to keep an imigrant from arriving off a boat, and running for President. If that were allowed, every European potentate of the 18th century would have simply sent their trusted henchmen to America to seize power by such means, and then have America cow-tow to the potentate that patroned them.
It was never intended to stop a child born with dual citizenship from doing it.
