One guy captured the attention of a nation and beyond, because he had the guts to stand up for his convictions while the rest of the GOP is surrendering like the French Army in WWII.

One lone Tea Party guy did that.

One guy gave hope to the millions of Republicans across America, and he gave a spark of leadership that we havent seen since the days of Ronald Reagan.

The only reason why anybody voted for GWB was because the Clinton/Gore years were so terrible, and we frankly got tired of Billy getting caught in a new sex scandal every other week. The world was laughing at us over it.

But GWB was never really the guy the Republicans wanted. He was just the only one we could get organized around.

The McCains and the Romneys and the Corkers and the McConnells only motivate us to stay home on election day. That is what I did back in 2008, when Obama was running against McCain.

I just stayed home and didnt vote.

Looking back, even after Obamacare and all, I still think I did the right thing. McCain might be the only guy I know that would have been worse for America than Obama.

(And Im a Republican)

The GOP of today is rudderless. It has no leaders. Its an army with no generals.

Only surrender monkeys.

Until Now.

That is why is is being attacked by both parties, but mostly the GOP. He is a threat to thier little BS status Quo.

He went Rogue on them, like Reagan did.

Ted Cruz can lead America to a new era of true greatness that Im sure none of the young liberals posting here can remember. That is because we havent truly been, or felt great, since Reagan left office.

Every President since Reagan could have been replaced with a cardboard cut out and placed in the chair behind the desk in the Oval Office, and we would have been far better off.

We even had good TV shows back in the 1980s.

(Magnum PI, Simon and Simon, A-Team, Remington Steele, Airwolf, and so on)

Now, people cant hardly afford TV cable, because nearly half the workforce is out of work.

Many millions more soon will be, due to Obamacare.

So, yeah. The GOP and thier corporate owned Fox News, and the old establishment elite in the GOP, dont want to see some idealistic guy come fom nowhere and take over.

And then go rogue on them, like Reagan did.

That is the last thing the GOP wants. Thats why they are attacking Ted Cruz so viciously and unfairly.

And thats why the masses of American conservatives will probably follow him.

The liberals will be getting pretty fed up with Obamacare by 2016 too.

Many of the worst parts of the law are being put off a year by the democrats, to get past the 2014 midterm elections. The dems know that people would be too upset to vote for them, if the Obamacare was fully implemented before the 2014 elections.

But by 2016, Obamacare will have made full landfall, and it will be as unwanted, as a turd floating in the punch bowl.

Expect many democrats to defect from the DNC then.

The Republicans are already defecting from the GOP.

It has all the making of a perfect political storm. All it needs is an eye to form around.

Ted Cruz could be that eye.

If this post is too long for you to read, its probably over your head anyway. Dont worry about it. Just go chant some Obama slogans and stick your head back in the sand.

Us Tea Party guys will take care of the politicking for you. It will be alright.

So far the only part of the plan that has affected me is that I can now carry my kids on my health care plan until they are 26. I like this part because now I don't have to worry about health care for my kids through college. They can get get their masters degree and hopefully have a better path than I did and have good health care the entire time they are in college.

Frankly, I like the idea of the individual mandate. When Reagan signed the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, it mandated that any hospital that accepted Medicare funds, which is pretty much all of them, could not deny treatment for anyone based on race, creed, sex, nationality or their ability to pay. This is an unfunded mandate. So over the years freeloaders who could afford insurance but choose not to purchase it have been receiving medical care that they do not have to pay for. But somebody has to pay. That would be me and everyone else in the United States that pay higher insurance premiums and rediculous medical bills due to the fact that this "free medical care" has to be paid for by someone. I am tired of the US taxpayers having to support these freeloaders. I thought the Republican Party was against entitlements but they have never sought to end this one, which may be the biggest entitlement of all. So now republicans are against the individual mandate? Why do republicans support these freeloaders?

The potus has said he will not negotiate anymore it is his way or else on raising the debt and spending more.
WASHINGTON (AP) This time, President Barack Obama says, he's not budging. This is the confrontational Obama, the "Make my day" president, betting Republicans blink to avoid a government shutdown or a first-ever default of the nation's debts.

It's a proposition not without risk and one with a history of last-minute accommodations on both sides. Brinkmanship between Obama and congressional Republicans has often stopped at the precipice's edge.

In this round, however, the president and his aides maintain that when it comes to raising the government's borrowing authority and meeting its debt obligations, there's no bargaining.

"The entire world looks to us to make sure that the world economy is stable. You don't mess with that," Obama said Thursday. "And that's why I will not negotiate on anything when it comes to the full faith and credit of the United States of America."

Does anyone ever get the feeling that we have turned into hostages by our own president and government? And we blindfolded ourselves, and bound our own hands. We voted in terrible politicians with their own agendas and with ties to huge special interest money. When you let a wolf into the sheep pen, don't be surprised when he eats sheep?

The majority of VOTERS DON"T WANT OBAMACARE!!
but who cares what "we the people want"

Obama has drawn another a red line in the sand!
they have a law that (Obama approved) that says any new spending has to be offset with cuts...but then they ignore the laws they pass. much like obama using executive orders to go around our laws and Constitution.

Obama's policies are a failure. Since 1947, when the government began tracking GDP, not one President has failed to enjoy a quarter of at least 4% GDP growth. Obama is the the first. Under Ronald Reagan, the first quarter following the effective date of his tax cuts in January 1983 saw a 9.3% growth and a record 26 months of positive GDP growth. Under George H. W. Bush, the economy grew 4.5% during the first quarter of 1992, and President Clinton reached a peak of 8.0% in the second quarter of 2000 before the tech bubble. And even George W. Bush saw 6.7% growth following his tax cuts in the third quarter of 2003.Obama has produced the slowest economic growth since the 1930s.

The cuts, that WILL NOT COME, won't affect the elected crooks and the crooks who feed their need for more and more power and money. they land on the poor, the old, the disenfranchised.

Why has it been over 1500 days since the Democrats in the Senate have produced a budget? The House submitted one, why can't the Democrats in the Senate come up with a budget? Is third-grade math too hard, Sen. Reid? The Repubs have over 15 jobs bills waiting in the Senate for approval but are being obstructed by Dems who want to do nothing (but borrow trillions from China and others) and print out worthless IOU's.

Americans are sick of mindless borrowing, no budgeting, and the illusory promises of socialism. 2010 was just the beginning; 2014 is coming!

"Borrowing authority"? "full faith and credit"? When does it ever make sense to continually borrow to pay interest on what was borrowed to pay interest on what was borrowed to pay interest on... The longer this game goes on, the more it's going to hurt when it finally collapses and make no mistake... we are a 'Bear Sterns' away from economic Armageddon. We are slaves to the masters of money. It's like the "mutual assured destruction" of the cold war era but the new term is "to big to fail".

Here is the real deal with why the GOP is attacking Ted cruz...

They want to run Jeb Bush for President in 2016. Ted Cruz is stealing the limelight, while Jeb Bush (as per usual) isnt doing or saying...anything?

But, Ive talked with a lot of republicans (I hang out in Republican circles), and not a single one would vote for another Bush.

In fact, when Jebs name is mentioned as running for POTUS, it almost always results in a rolling of the eyes and them saying something to the effect..."No way am I going to vote for another Bush".

Whats left of the GOP after the 2014 election cycles (after thier own voters punish them for surrendering on everything)...whats left of the GOP will run Jeb Bush for President in 2016.

And loose.

And possibly loose bad enough for the party to crumble out of existence.

Obama promised that he was going to destroy the GOP. But, Obama would have actually been rather easy for the GOP to have handled...if the GOP had only had some leadership.

But the GOP hasnt really had any good leadership in years.

There is a command structure of sorts that is over the GOP, but I dont know that I would call bouncing from defeat and disaster, into other defeats and disasters, to be really good leadership.

Jeb Bush in 2016 is a sure fire loss.

But, Hey, Im a Tea Party guy. I encourage Republicans to jump ship now, and support the Tea Party candidates.

You dont have to wait for the GOP elite to run it into the ground.

Obama lost most of the states. But he won enough of the big liberal states to get an electorial win.

If the election had gone by number of states, Obama would have lost both times.

Obamacare will result in lots more American jobs (what few there still are) going to Mexico.

An employer of a sweat shop there, or a prison work shop in China, dont have to pay thier employees health insurance.

I wonder how many of the young Obama supporters who think its knda cool to be a lefty, will enjoy moving back in with thier parents and never owning anything of thier own, because of democrat programs such as NAFTA and Obamacare?

The rest of the Senators, including our own Tennessee Senators, Alexander and Corker, seem to be determined to vote for closure, which will allow the democrats to easily strip out the defund language from the spending bill.
Ted Cruz is trying to stop them, and force the Senate to vote on the bill just like the House wrote it, with the defund language intact.
Then the Senate Republicans would have to vote "Yea" or "Nea" on it. And thier defense of Obamacare would be a lot more obvious.
Ted is trying to make thier trickery obvious.
I wish Tennessee has a good a Senator as Ted Cruz.
But...maybe we can have him for President?
I would a lot rather have him than Hillary, or a John McCain clone (like last time).
Go Ted Go! 70% of America is with you!
I think I would vote for him
I have a better idea! Why don't you move to Texas where you can vote for Cruz along with the other idiots down there?

NAFTA was pushed through with a republican congress led by Newt Gingrich and signed into law by Clinton. Get your facts right. Both parties are to blame and by the way NAFTA was a republican bill. I am a republican and always have been. NAFTA was the biggest mistake until Obamacare.

Hillbillyboy, I have read your comments. You seem to be a very intelligent person, however I think that if your posts were a little more focused and straight to the point people would listen and possibly adjust or change their opinions on a given subject. People have a short attention span and lose interest after about 30 seconds. I am just trying to give constructive criticism. Maybe break a particular post into quadrants and it will leave people wanting more.

Fair enough. Point well taken.

For our liberal friends who usually duck the issues, dont respond to source links other than to ignore them or sling a crude insult, I lay down a question about this link...

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/09/27/pre...

Would our liberal friends care to comment on the information in the link?

(The information in the story, not the news agency itself)

I dont think a single liberal will be honest enough to even read the link, let alone comment on it.Never the less, let them weigh themselves on the scales of truthfulness, right here in front of everybody.

Lets see how they answer the charges in the link article (if they even try to)
