I wouldn't call that story groundbreaking but it certainly was an embarrassment for News Channel 11.

That was months ago wasn't it? Something about women inmates and a man named Hughes, who actually worked for the golf course, and that the TBI was investigating. Never any details in the media about it per usual, i.e. never learned if it was bedding inmates or worse. No embrassmnet to WJHL because they just reported that the TBI was looking into something.

I'm sure he was the one that reported on the little girl being " kicked out" of Boones Creek Elementary. That was all lies. He lives to get get dirt in Wash Co Schools. Not " picking" on him. He's just plain embarrassment to WJHL

I happen to think that Nate Morabita is very good at reporting, and does a great community service. Elizabethton had been promised a traffic light at Sycamore Shoals Hopsital for years. Nate was contacted, and got publicity, and now the traffic light installation is in the works. I don't believe it would have ever been addressed had Nate not been involved.

I think he's more interested in getting a story than in representing both sides fairly. Seems like he has a special grudge against schools. Sometimes putting a spotlight on an issue is helpful, but not if you have to make up an issue on your own that didn't previously exist.

They sent an underling to Unicoi County to cover the Harris indictments. and yes he seems to focus on the pettiest of issues with the schools. Evil is harsh though. Just reluctant to report on certain things.

I teach at Boones Creek Elementary in Kindergarten where the little girl was in school. What Mr Mirabito failed to mention and the parents failed to stop and realize is that there are laws passed down from the Department of Education that we are to abide by. The law that I am speaking of is that children are to be at least 5 years old by a certain date (the 2014-15 date is August 15), the girl in question did not meet those guidelines and per State Education Department guidelines, was not of school age yet. Therefore, Washington County Schools could not, by law, enroll her. So.....Nate get the facts straight and parents stop wanting your face on TV and research the law.

It was a great report. A soon to be inmate/city employee stealing from the Boys and Girl Club. You got a problem with that? Getting female inmates drunk. Many have substance abuse problems anyway you so you think it's OK?

Does anyone realize that Morabito has helped bring news in the Tri-Cities into the current century? Without investigative journalism, we end up with a cookie cutter news program of little value. I have learned some interesting things about what's going on in our community. Must we be ignorant just so we can pretend everyone does the right thing? There are some shady situations in our midst, and some unsavory characters involved in those shady situations. Go for it Nate; keep on reporting. We citizens have a voice in you. If no one else cares or will listen, at least you will look into a reported crime. What's right with your reporting greatly outweighs what is wrong. If someone or something is out of line, keep letting us know. People that don't want to "make the news" or be in the news should probably shoot a little straighter. Nay sayers, what dirty laundry are you hiding? Just sayin'.

Well, Nate's no Geraldo Rivera (thank goodness), and is doing his best to bring out the dirty laundry in town, and there is plenty of that to go around. I wish WJHL would actually give him free reign and the freedom to dig a lot deeper, but we know that ain't gonna happen. As far as he is limited, I think he's doing an outstanding job. He deserves a lot more respect than he is given. He may be on a crusade in the name of journalism and what the freedom of the press was meant to be. I just wish could be more independent and not having to tone it down in some situations, thanks to the local powers that be, not his fault. As Truthshaker says, more or less, "Keep it coming, Nate"! We are on the same page.

. I agree totally. Of course he is going to be hated by many because he exposes wrong doings- and exposes the people who commit the wrong doings. I think he wonderful. He has made a huge difference in our community- his story on WCDE tonight was very factual seemed to me. He is exposing evil. Exposing a cover up where children were being horribly abused at Jonesboro middle school; it's not pretty- but he is a hero to me for being brave enough to report something of this magnitude. You go Nate...

I have some interesting info about how the city of jc paid full time employees to drive around another employee to pay his/her private bills. This took place over a period of 2 to 2 1/2 years. The division this employee (bills paid employee) also kept a cash bank at the administrative office of that division. The director of this department used city funds to manage the so called well being of this employee which resulted in the forced retirement of this person. Also heard a story from several reliable sources about former city manager John Cambell killing a person by hitting him with his car behind the ems/fire station after a city commission meeting where apparently city officials enjoy a few cocktails in a municipal building on tax payers dollars. Of course this was swept under the rug so to speak by jcpd (imagine that for a moment). The city of jc continues to become a corrupt organization making up the rules as they go.

He only reports what he's allowed to ... cant you tell by the articles? Anyone who has the means to financially destroy his employers is left alone. Grow a spine Nate and really dig up something that'll scare the so-called untouchables into walking the straight line!
