Hi there! I just saw your post and I whole-heartedly recommend Boone Trail Baptist Church on Carroll Creek Road. I started going there 7 years ago. My husband works out of town, and the people just adopted me and my children. It's a pretty big church, but don't let that overwhelm you. Just come as you are, and hear Pastor Randy preach the truth. They have a website with sermons, if you would like to get a feel for what the preaching is like. He is a former evangelist, so he really gets excited and is anything but boring. I'll tell you, I had to take my small child to the hospital, and people from the church took turns staying with me until my husband was able to fly home. They heard that I had to move to Bristol, and some of the men gathered together and got me moved so I wouldn't have to pay someone. I could go on and on but I'll just leave you this link and hope you do consider them in your search.

I wouldn't recommend Boone Trail to ANYBODY. Several years ago we attended there for months and those are the snobbiest people I have EVER seen at a Church. They are very clickish and aren't welcoming/friendly at all. I would look elsewhere if I were you. And we are BY FAR not the only family who feels this way.

I wonder if they have changed since you went there then? Because I have been going for 7 years and it is breaking my heart to have to find a church closer to home. Not only did they welcome me, but like I had mentioned earlier, they went above and beyond what my own family did to help me, when they didn't even know me. Not only that, but I've had a friend lose a job....Boone Trail packed them a box of food the same day. I had a friend whose brother was dying in a hospital in Miami...Boone Trail pastor called a friend to go visit that person and pray over them. How was my post "nuts"? It's the truth!!!!

If you are looking for a welcoming church I would suggest Christ Fellowship Church off of the Rock Springs Rd Exit on I-26. It is a non-denominational church with wonderful people. Pastor Greg DePriest teaches his messages in a way that is understandable and talks as if you were having a conversation and not using the "yea, thee, thou" words. Lots of different types of people from all walks of life attend. Sunday Services are at 9am and 11am. Give them a try!

Try a non-denominational Church. Most Baptist churches are filled with windbags.

I have tried Tri-City Baptist. They talk a good game, but are not very friendly. If you don't come back or are having any problems, they will forget you. I know.

I don't go to Church because most so called Churches that I have been to are nothing more than social clubs. But don't get me wrong I do believe in God,I just don't believe in organized religion.I read & study the Bible each & every day and i can tell you that most so called Churches are not preaching or teaching out of the Bible. Most so called Churches don't care if you believe in God,Jesus,or the Bible,They are interested in trying to get people converted to their denomination & their interpretation of who God,Jesus & the Bible are.
If you read the Bible closer, you will read that God tells us to fellowship with our brothers and Sisters in Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25). Any Christian who has a problem with fellowship needs to take a look at his heart. Something is missing there and it may be a true relationship with Christ. If the Holy Spirit dwells within you, the desire to attend church and fellowship should come naturally.

While it is true that a lot of "socializing" goes on at a church, you have to think of the members of a church as one big family. When you visit with your family, do you not socialize?

Perhaps you need to attend a smaller church where you can get to know one another better without getting "lost in the crowd".

I am sorry you have such an negative attitude about church. Perhaps you just haven't been to the right one yet. Pray about it and ask God to lead you to a church where you can attend, serve, and worship Him!

Please define "windbag"... most Baptist churches have a preacher at the pulpit that preaches the Word and doesn't sugar coat it while some of the other demoninations, out of fear of offending someone and losing its "popularity", only preach on the happy topics and never the Bible as a whole.

My family and i have been to many churches in the area. We currently attend one and for the most part it has been great up until recently. If you have a life problem most churches will drop you like a hot coal. I love Jesus and have so much faith and i know he wants us to fellowship with other Christians but kinda hard when you meet so many 2 faced Christians. Noone is perfect but we cant use that excuse all the time. We have to strive to be like God wants us to be which is holy. I think my church days are about done. Nowhere in the bible does it command you to go to a building to worship or you will go to hell. I love my fellow person but its getting harder and harder to trust em. Even the pastors seem to have gone bonkers these days. Take a look at what happened at Tri Cities Baptist and Celebration church. Too much aggravation. I would rather stay home and worship to God, read my bible and fellowship with my family. I know this is not the best way but at least this way there will be no disappointments. I have had enough of those in church. If you wanna find a good church all i can say is good luck and i pray you find one. I havent yet.

I like Boone Trail...we haven't decided on a church home yet but of all I have visited, I like Boone Trail Baptist. I am a small town non denominational church goer but have always felt welcomed and blessed by the message after visiting Boone Trail. I haven't been to Christ Fellowship but I know some people that go there and really like it too. May GOD Bless your search. I know it is difficult.

Visited Grace with some friends. They liked it, I did not. It is a very nice church with a young congregation. They sing contemporary songs and the sermon was very mellow. Too big and impersonal for me. I do have a friend that regularly attends "the well" which I think is at Grace and she loves it. Try it for yourself...it may be what you are looking for. Let GOD lead you!

I went there. They are very arrogant and unfriendly. I left a while back and never heard from them again. They are always going on misson trips but don't show concern for the people around here.

Lone Oak Christian Church is a non denominational church that preaches the Gospel. We care about outreach and support many different areas of Missions. We have wonderful childrens and youth programs. It is located off Cherokee Road on Lone Oak Rd. (close to Cherokee School). Hope to see you soon, if you haven't already found your church home.
