well, you can't do all the back hand springs, etc. unless you do them regularly....SO, you must do them in high school if you intend to go to college and have a chance to make it there. However, you are right- the grades should come first period over any sports.

I agree that they need some tumbling experience but it seems it has become more important than grades and Teacher reccomendations and that is just opening up a lot of trouble for coaches and the school as a whole.

Julie Johnson is Danny's first cousin. She is NOT OVER the cheerleaders because she is not an employee of the school system. Christy is OVER the cheerleaders and asked Julie to help. They both went to Danny and asked and he said okay. THe cheerleaders at Boone did have a terrible reputation. They were taking pictures of themselves naked and sending them via text, smoking pot, drinking and acting in a terrible manner in public. Yes cheerleading should be fun and so should basketball, football, and any other sport. But..when you have members of these teams acting in the way they were it is time to clean it up. Christy and Julie are trying to do that. You better bet that if the football coach or any other coach up there or anywhere had players doing these things, they would get in trouble too..not just cheerleaders. Also, Danny Good did not have two neices try out for cheerleader..he had one, Madison..that is all and she has tried out two years in a row and did not make it. She also tried out for soccer last year and didnt make it either. I dont know who you are saying two neices, but you need to get your facts straight before you run your mouth. If a child of anyone's is good enough to play any sport or participate in any club, they should be able to do that. The relatives to Danny Good and myself that play a sport are good enough..that is how they make the team. His nephew got a football scholarship..I guess you jealous people are going to start saying the family paid the college to give that to him too??? Grow up.

You must be the uninformed black sheep of the family. Get your facts straight. Danny did have 2 neices tryout for cheerleading this year. True Madison did not make it but Gracie Good (daughter of Eddie which is Dannys brother) did make it. Everyone at Daniel Boones knows this. Sounds like you are lying about being related or lying about neices trying out.

Every cheerleader who made the squad earned it. This year has been rough starting out but I think it will be the best yet. If you're this jealous of the girls, try out or shut up about the girls, the squad, the tryouts, and the coaches.

You people need to open your eyes and get real. These cheerleaders need the strickest coach dbhs can get. If you call being nasty skanks a role model of Daniel Boone then your wrong. I went to DBHS and everyone there makes so much fun of the cheerleaders. If they werent all so fat and nasty skanks, then their cheerleading program wouldnt be so awful. Its bad when you go to one of the pep rallys during school and the cheerleaders are in a split humping the ground like animals in their dances. I played sports while at Boone and really if you cant maintain an A/B average, then your just plum stupid. You dont learn dittly squat at Boone, so why should the gpa be lowered? So the cheerleaders can go home after the games and get wasted, stay high during school, and get pregnant? Get a life.

I did go to Boone. Kids are just as jealous of cheerleaders now as they were when I was there. I was not a cheerleader. I did have some friends that cheered. Could care less if its considered a sport or not, its not easy! Don't really care what anyone on here has to say about that. You have your opinion and I have mine. Enough said

If you hate cheerleading and cheers, it is just because you probably couldn't get picked to be a cheerleader and are jealous. lol And, if you don't think it is a sport, you are nuts. Maybe it's not at some of the local schools around here, but most places.. you have to work your butt off to be elected a cheerleader and keep the position. Tell my niece who is the person who is standing on top of the pyramid that it's not a sport. lol She does a lot more than just show up at school Fridays and break out a tepid cheer. lol And, she's a straight A student too- her parents expect that from her. Besides her school cheering, she's on a competitive cheer team as well. Lots of hard work. She also is on the softball and soccer teams too. And, competes in beauty pageants. And, is not allowed to dress and act like a "ho" either. You don't have to be "fast" in school to be a cheerleader. It' all about how the parents raise their kids.

So true! Thank you! For someone who has never cheered, they cannot begin to understand how hard it is! You have to be smart to learn to do all that they do. And that's the facts!

Its a shame that cheerleading is not considered a sport . The cheerleaders practice everyday same as the players . They are very unique in their moves. They are at every game cheering their team on in the rain, mud, snow . The cheerleaders at Daniel Boone High School in Gray get no recognition for their hard work and effort in cheering their school on at every game . They are not allowed to attend the athletic banquet that is being gave; nor has their coach or the school's athletic director , or any teacher at Daniel Boone made any effort to do anything for this group of girls ' Some have been a cheerleader for 4 years. Its a shame the cheerleaders have gave so much of their time to the school and get nothing in return .

The cheer coaches suck. One is too busy making her divorce final while seeing her boyfriend and the other is making sure her daughter and neices stay on despite their talent. By the way does GPA mean anything at Boone? HOW EPIC!!!!!!!!!!
