we are thinking about relocating to this area. would appreciate any info on jobs, rent, schools, crime rate, or anything else. we live in a county with no jobs and no future for our kids. I am a RN and my husband was wondering about factory jobs. Thanks for any help!!!!

An RN can go anywhere especially here. Send your resume ahead of time and you'll have a job when you arrive. "Factory" would imply that somebody's building something. All that's happening in China because of every last Americans greed. He might want to find a new trade.
I must tell you that Johnson City showed up as being the "most depressed city in the US" for some reason. I don't really know why. Out of the three cities here, JC has the most going for it. Oddly almost 50% of everybody there seeks mental health assistance. I myself have just made an appointment for a doctor next week.(Long story)
If you're trying to stay a little closer to home, JC is OK. Want to go a hundred miles south of here to Knoxville and its a world away....big money good jobs lots happening.

my husband was a coalminer and there are just no more jobs around here. he decided to give it up and move and start all over somewhere else. what kind of jobs are there that he could make decent money? how about any trade schools that he could go to?
