Have you seen any misspelled words in any newspapers? Please let me know the name of the newspaper and the date. I need it for my grammar project. Thanks

<quoted text>It's not just the sheriff's office. The JCPD pretty much tells the jc press their version of the news before it happens. Money or backscratching? Somethings going on. Same goes for WJHL.
The paper and TV stations are simply too lazy to get the real facts.

For example: Sheriff dept guy in Jonesborough that managed a U turn on 11E in his jeep and got T-boned by someone in the same lane. TV reports "Cops call their guy a hero because it looked like he threw himself over his son to protect him".

What a joke. Cop wasn't belted in, and got thrown to the side of the jeep his son was on because that's the side the other car hit, bashing in his head. Two kids in the jeep were belted in, and walked away.

No man is perfect. Everybody makes mistakes, however the person that you are referring to was a good man he helped hundreds of people me included over a lengthy career with the sheriffs office. He has a life altering injury and you are exploiting him and his family. Pray for him and his family.

The JC Press does lean left. I've tried on numerous occasions to provide some balance to various online discussions only to have my comments never get past the mods. Too bad the Press feels it must censor opposing views. Not exactly the behavior one would expect from a paper serving a most conservative area.

The press would rather report how a schoolboard member had an argument with his wife than what local students are doing to help the homeless, who our local soldiers are, who was murdered in JC and what local police are doing to find out who did it ! It's all about politics! The press is a joke .We haven't received a paper in years .
Well it was hardly just an argument when you consider he hit her. Spouse abuse is not ok and should be reported especially when this guy is suppose to be a leader in our school system. I hope the Press reports now about what a joke this has made of Washington County School System.

<quoted text> She said it was an accident . Accidents DO happen! The press loves to take someone in the public eye, especially when they're doing a good job and run them through the mill. She didn't even report it. I was told the SRO that works at her school saw a bruise on her face and insisted her husband did it. This was a few days after the incident . Seems odd to me
She didn't report it because she was afraid of retaliation by him. That was what she put in the police report. She also stated he either caused the bruise by his elbow or his phone. She wasn't sure which one. Read the paper or simply go to the police station and get a copy of it yourself. It's all public record. He is a POS period! People are starting to realize that. So it don't matter how much you post on here talking good about yourself David your being found out.

I feel the JC press is an excellent newspaper....for starting fires, bird cage lining, poop picker-upper, food scrap hauling to the compost, paint spills etc. And as far as the mystery diner. for someone who has no sense of taste or smell he does a fine job looking at the food figuring out what it could be.

I think the Johnson City Press is one of the worst newspapers I have ever seen.
I often see misspellings, bad grammar, and unfinished articles. What I hate most of all is NO LAYOUT CONSITANCY. Today’s edition even moved the editorials, letters and opinions to a different section.
They need to change or someone please bring a quality paper to Northeast Tennessee.
If I could get the Bristol Herald delivered I would drop the JC Press.
What is your opinion?
I agree. What is more upsetting is how the staff remove all comments that do not align with their ideology. They remove every comment that does not support the gay lifestyle, or every comment that opposes race issues with the black race. I wrote that "I did not support the black lives matter rally" and they cancelled my acct. That was all I wrote. Just those 9 words

Aside from the poor editing,(they are too dependent on spell check) My biggest complain is how in bed they are with the Washington county sheriff's department. They're are so many dirty things going on in that department yet the press helps them sweep it all under the rug...
They do not get both sides of a story. Especially if it involves the Washington Co. Dept. of Education. What pathetic reporters.

I am sorry I posted something that you consider to be a no brainer. One would think a decent reporter would get both sides of a story. I am not from this area and I have been rather surprised that Ron Dykes and his filthy shenanigans are covered up. The Johnson City Press should report everything that WCDE does that is considered unethical, biased, and illegal.

Hard to say if they have a skeleton staff that works feverishly to get the paper out every day, or a bunch of lazy nincompoops that throw something together come deadline. Based on the poor editing discussed above I lean towards the latter. Also the fact they spend an inordinate amount of effort reviewing readers comments. In the old days WJHL got lot of their stories (and work) from the Press now it seems the other way around.
