Well it looks like Comcrap has screwed us once again. I wake up this morning and flip on my TV only to find these dumbphuks have now encrypted their limited basic services.(Limited service just provides our local channels ABC CBS NBC Fox). Normally these channels can be received on newer TVs without a set top box. Well no more, now you need a box that they will eventually be charging for.

Hey Comcast .!....!.

I am with the times, I got nice newer flat panel HDTVs with clear QAM tuners and things have been fine. That is until now, now that I need these stupid boxes that don't even provide the HD resolution the local channels provide unless you want to pay extra for something that is normally free. "The times" as you put it actually suck ass, I remember when cable tv first came on the scene back then there were no commercials on cable tv at all, the premise was that since you're paying for the service you shouldn't have to sit through commercials like free over the air service. Also the channels broadcasted 24/7 not just half a day and the other half filled with crap infomercials.

It's not doing it yet. They are in the process of implementing the change.

This just happened to me last week!! Comcast , since they bought Time warner TV is doing a major over hall AUDIT!! Anyone who bought the "basic package", is now being dropped to almost nothing! I get about 12 channels for 29.99 a month!! Companies who are on top are nickel and diming everyone. I have paid Comcast several thousand dollars in the past 5 years and they won't allow for any "special" deals. So, in order to get the "upgraded" package, it is now going to be 60 bucks a month. For the same channels I had been receiving for the past 5 years, I am now being charged double!

Comcast is in process of running an AUDIT to everyone's account to see what they signed up with. If you have the "basic" package, your channels will be cut to like 12 channels total. I just got off the phone with them.

Everyone might want to read this months consumer reports.it has an story about cable companies. Very interesting. It talks about a phone service that is free, but you have to pay taxes and fees which is $4for us.you have to pay $150 for the equipment.you do have to have internet service. It is called Ooma but there is a case in the surpreme court now where internet providers say. It is their right to slow down the speed for users of other products other than there approved. An example. Comcast would slow down anyone watch shows from amazon prime or netflix. Ps one of the worse provider in this consumer report was...wait for is
comcast and charter. What ever happened to the city starting their own for its citizens
