Ya know, in today's economy when things are bad and money is tight and jobs are scarce yes most of us are lucky to have the jobs we do. However, things will not be the way they are now forever and employers would do well to remember that.

So if you are a business owner, the next time you crap on your employees and then feel like telling them "There is a line of people just waiting to take their job and there's the door if you don't like it" remember you will eventually find yourself with no employees when the economy improves and jobs are once again available because no on wants to work for an a**hole if they don't have to!!

Most employees are a**holes, why? I tell you, they expect you to have a car. You work your a** off do get things done, you look out for the Company, you get to work on time and never late, you work after hours OFF the clock and sometimes on weekends but, you are let go cause you have no car!! If you had one and it broke down even, you would be let go. They know you are not making enough money to buy one like they can but still, they think you got money coming out of your a**!! These fu**ers need to lose their jobs!! If they would pay us what were worth and the good job we do, we wouldn't be in the shape we're in!!

true story! I can think of several places that will be high & dry that I said goodbye to. Now I'm just looking at them in my rear view mirror. I put in my notice at least twice while working at a past employer & they tried to talk me out of leaving soni stayed... But 3rd times a charm. Then about a year later when I was asked if I wanted to come back yet & I said heck no never thy just couldn't believe it... I will go back to that place when he'll freezes

Any company will ask a good employee to come back. If youve never been asked to come back I guess you're not a good worker LOL :)

Lets just say I know for sure they dont ask anyone back. As a matter of fact, they have to have approval from outside the store to hire any prior employees. So no, I'm not the CEO but yes, I do know something about how they operate.

Well I know how they operate too. I've personally watched them rehire people. Maybe you don't know as much as you think they do. It doesn't matter to me cause I sure ain't going back. It's idiots like you who enjoy working there. Like I said you're nothing but a know it all. You're probably that ugly b*tch that works in lp.

I am a business owner who has over 100 employees. We are a local business and have been part of this community for over 50 years. During the past 6 months, the top 50% of our employees have gotten raises, bonuses, extra time off, benefits, detailed employee reviews, etc. During the past 6 months, below is a list of some of the things coming from the bottom 20%:

1. Can you lay me off, I would rather stay home and am happy earning less.

2. Can you take back the raise you gave me? With this raise, I no longer can receive free lunches for my son at school. BTW, the raise would have paid for these lunches ten times over.

3. This job is too hard. I am going to sue you unless you give me a desk job.

4. I have to take drugs because my job is too stressful. If you fire me for taking drugs at work, I will sue you for not providing me a good work environment.

5. I need to take Thurs, Fri and Sat off because I want to go to the beach. However, I need my hours so I want to work on my day off on Mon and some overtime on Tues. This person couldn't understand why I said no.

6. My child support payments got raised so I need a raise.

7. Can I cash in my vacation and get a loan for $5,000 because I can't pay my water bill or my power bill. I also need my car worked on. This person had two brand new tattoos, smokes at least 3 packs of cigarettes a day, had a fresh manicure and a new hairdo.

8. I am allowed at least six smoke breaks a day. If I don't get them, I am going to sue you for not obeying Tennessee State Labor Laws.

Don't get me wrong, most of our employees are great and I love and respect all of them. However, I suspect some of the posters complaining about their former employer above made up part of that employer's bottom 20%. I also wanted to share some of the amusing things employers here from the less than stellar employees.

Amen Tim, I've heard almost all of those where I'm at. It's unfortunate we are in a "gimme gimme" society where alot of people weren't raised with a good work ethic and think the world owes them a living. We have some awesome employees also but that lower rung of 20% acts like they're doing you a favor by showing up for work and giving a 50% effort.

Just to play devils advocate for a moment, I read your other post and you weren't fired for not having a can...I'm assuming you were fired for an attendance issue. Most companies have policies for how often you can miss and penalties for this. In all fairness how can you blame the company you work for if you get into trouble for not coming to work? They need employees there to run their business.

So walmart/wrong, why are you even having to ask for that if you werent fired? Isn't it automatic? And if you were such a good employee that they were asking you back, I don't see the issue.

if you're talking about vacation time.... Doesn't every employee ask to use their vacation time? I mean most places you use it or loose it. Be more clear
