My first visit to Popeye's was at their new Kingsport location. My order was incorrect, which I didn't notice until I arrived home. I attempted to call them at the number listed on the receipt, but it went to voicemail both times. I called the Johnson City store and spoke with an employee named Ashanti and asked her to verify the Kingsport store's telephone number and she gave me the location instead. When I asked again, she rattled off the number and hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with the manager, to which Ashanti replied that she is the manager. When I confronted her about hanging up on me, she said that their phone "does that." If that's the way Popeye's treats their customers, I won't be back.

My experience as well. Over-priced, bad service, and the portions look like they came from young chicks rather than chickens. The food actually tasted good, what there was of it, but everything else was pitiful. Actually, the best chicken I have purchased is from Food City. Guess I will go back.

Why should a customer have to check their order before leaving? That's what "drive thru" is for. That's also what employees are getting paid for! It's not rocket science, it's a fast food place and if they can't get a simple order ready and bagged correctly then something is wrong! Remember, the customer is always right and their money is what keeps this business open! Treat customers badly and you will get bad reviews, simple as that.

i'll tell you why a customer should check your bag before leaving.... To doublecheck and make sure you got what you Ordered.. People are not perfect everyone makes mistakes..... And if you would have checked your order for you left the store you would not be calling around crying and complaining now... Take some responsibility for yourself....... And quit blaming others for your mistakes..... Like I said earlier people like you make me sick...... It's always someone else's fault... I own three restaurants in the Tri-Cities I hope your fat ass never walks in to any of them....

I haven't even ate there yet, so that goes to show what a know it all you think you are! It's my money and I'll take my fat ass to any restaurant I please! If it just happens to be one of yours and I'm unhappy with any of the service I will complain. I understand mistakes are made, but that doesn't entitle you to speak one rude word to me as a customer. If your an owner and experience these problems, tell your employees to pull their heads out of their butt, pay attention and get my order correct, then there will be nothing to complain about will there?

Popeye's made the mistake, not the customer. Are you kidding? So you blame customers for mistakes? Good luck in the future because you are going to need it. Maybe you need to take some accountability.

I agree the customer should've checked their order...... Especially if they were going to blow a gasket when they make it home and find out it's wrong..... That appears to be the way for this area..... You sell somebody something for five dollars.... And make a little mistake and then they want you to give them 20 its ridiculous...... It must be that all these Christians living in the Bible Belt hummmmmmmm........ I hate them too

It is good sense to check your order. It's also good business to get the order right. One lost customer leads to others.

Really? Christians bring religion into everything on a regular basis, they toss their beliefs around as if they were the law of the land. Not to mention all the "lord have mercy" and "I'm blessed bl bla bla" and all that jibber jabber. Do bible thumpers crave attention that badly?

I have ordered thru the drive-thru twice now at the Johnson City location. The service was exceptional both times, and the food was delicious. The first time I purchased a large amount of food just before closing. They told me it would be a fifteen minute wait and asked if that was okay. After ten minutes the manager himself came out and told me that they were cooking everything fresh as it was late in the day and they had already cleaned up for the night. He apologized for the delay as well. About ten minutes after that he came back out with out with my order, and apologized again. Very professional middle aged or younger white man. They have my business for life. Also, those little trade books that come out every month have a couple of great coupons in them. We use the buy 11 pieces and get 11 free, and it's under $20. Best deal around!

JC store is set up backwards for inside ordering, you have to cross through the folks waiting to order just to get to the dining room! I'll stick with KFC, better quality for the money. Popeye's is overrated !

I agree she should have checked her order but you had to admit the onus is on the employee to ensure they gave the customer what they paid for. I think this is true for other types of stores as well, not just food establishments (grocery stores, retail, etc). I mean, a customer has many options but picked your store over many others to spend their money in so the least you could do is make sure they got treated properly or risk them never coming back. Makes me wonder if you really own a business at all.

Please tell us which restaurants you own and I'm sure most of us will be happy to take our money to other establishments that appreciate our business.
