Why is it that Obama, Hillary, and all the rest of the democrats want to expand foodstamps...while doing absolutely nothing to bring jobs back to America from Mexico and China?

They arent even paying lip service to repealing NAFTA, are they?

The poverty situation will not get better until we stop exporting our jobs overseas.

Why wont Obama and the democrats even talk about fixing the real problem?

(Let alone actually do something about it?)

. Republicans refuse to pass the Presidents jobs bill and voted last week to cut food stamps. As I said earlier 45% of recipients are children. That is wrong isn't it? Do you not agree, or should children fend for themselves?

You'll thank the Republicans in a few years for making such a sound fiscal decision when otherwise, there would be no monies available to give anyone food stamps. If you don't want to see a child starve, tell the parents to get off their lazy asses, quit buying their alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs, cut off their Internet, TV cable, and cell phone, get a job, and do whatever it takes to put food on their table. I've had to make sacrifices to put my kids through college by working extra hours and mowing lawns on the side. Getting a job and making sacrifices might seem harsh to you liberals, but hell, life ain't easy, is it?

You had better be careful here, because you are dangerously close to finding common ground with an outspoken Tea Party guy like me.

Think of your reputation!:)

Obama got more campaign donations than any other modern president and you think the corporations didn't have anything to do with it? You libs bought the hope and change crap, the transparency crap, and now they got you believing the corporations only side with the Republicans. How many times does Obama have to spit in your face before you realize its not the rain? We've always known that hypocrisy has been one of the Dems strongest traits; now it seems gullibility is gaining ground. Wake up before there is nothing left.

We have Michelle Obama crisscrossing the country talking about childhood obesity. We have 60 minutes doing documentaries about childhood obesity. We have schools now serving lo-cal lunches to combat childhood obesity. Are the children starving or are they fat? Which one is it because our current government thinks they're all fat, but you say they are starving.

. Studies have shown that the incidences of obesity are higher in women who participate in the SNAP program (food stamps) and children. This is due to their lack of access to healthier food choices. Many times they live in areas that have no supermarkets who offer those healthier choices. I believe that there should be more restrictions placed on what is approved to be purchased by food stamps, I.e. no pops, candy chips, etc. I also believe cutting the program hurts people. For the people that say the parents need to get jobs; no child in the U.S. should ever go hungry. Many people on food stamps work! They just do not earn a living wage. You right wingers are against a living wage, health care, food stamps, school lunches, school breakfasts, Head Start, and myriad other programs that have been developed to help your fellow citizens. Try taking the food stamp challenge and get back to me.

The children (and most other Americans) are both starving and fat at the same time. That is because our food is so bad that our bodies arent getting the nutrition they need.

They are getting saturated, preserved, GMO, polysorbic BS...but not enough actual nutrition. So our bodies think they are starving and retain fat.

Look whats on the labels of most foods. That aint nutrition dudes, that is chemicals. Our bodies werent made to run on man made chemicals.

If everyone took a few days to fast and clean the manmade crap out of our system, and then ate more fresh, organic, farm raised local food, we would be better off.

Oh, Michelle Obama must have forgot that her husband passed the "Monsanto Protection Act"...

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57576835/...

...and the many so-called "Food Safety Acts" which have less to do with food safety, than eliminating small farmer competition at the behest of big agro-company lobbyist...

http://www.ncchurches.org/2013/09/food-safety...

"Food Safety Acts is a false name for a bad law which will probably wipe out the local farmers and make it all but illegal to grow food cleanly on a small farm. These laws are just there to serve the big agro-business.

They just give it the false name "Food Safety", because that is how rotten modern politics have become in America.

Every despicable act of corruption or greed is justified with some sort of knee-jerk title or slogan, such as "For Safety", or "Its for the Children", or "To promote jobs", or "For national defense"...

And perhaps the most abused one of all..."To fight terrorism and extremism"...which can be used to justify just about anything from bombing some small nation into rubble, to buttering the popcorn in kindergardens in Iowa, in some obscure federal pork spending, waste and graft program these days.

Sorry Michelle!

She might mean well, but she dont really understand how the system works. Her garden at the White House was technically in violation of her husbands own "Food Safety Acts", but, hey, well let it slide.

If one job doesn't put enough food on the table, get two jobs. Since most underprivileged children get free breakfasts and free lunches at school, I don't think it would be too much to ask their deadbeat parents to forego their alcohol, drug, and nicotine vices to provide one decent meal to their children, do you? My wife and many of her colleagues donate their free time several times a year providing free medical tests to the needy. Well over 90% admit to smoking cigarettes and/or drinking alcohol. Over 90%!!!!!!! So my advice to you is to quit blaming Republicans for demanding accountability and hoping to preserve some monies for future food stamp recipients and start pointing your finger at the deadbeats who abuse the program.

Well, from a purely political point of view, this is a really dumb time for the republicans to start playing scrooge.

Right now, they should be making/buy/ inculcating as much public support as they can,to help them derail the Obamacare monster.

But then again, gthe only thing the GOP leadership is derailing right now, is the Tea Party efforts to stop Obamacare.

The GOP leadership is actually using deceitful parliamentary tricks to protect Obamacare from the Tea Party!

So, all in all, I guess Im not really surprised that the GOP leadership is doing something as ridiculous as cutting food stamps right now, especially when we are experiencing the worst economy since the Great Depression (thanks to Obama).

I think the GOP leadership is bent on political suicide.

And I dont think Ill miss them too much when they are gone.

Thats what us Tea Party guys think about it.

The Republicans didn't cut food stamps. They reduced the rate of increase of the spending on food stamps. The spending on Food Stamps actually increased. Don't play into the Liberal spin on things.

Second, the best way to feed those children who are actually needy is through the private sector. One example of a charity doing this is here:

http://www.netfoodbank.org/HowWeWork/FoodProg...

Government involvement simply implies fraud, mismanagement and waste to the point where every dollar spent only provides about 25 cents to the intended recipients.

The entire Food Stamp debacle has been going on for years and is only now coming to light due to our economic situation. How many times has anyone seen a skinny individual using food stamps?

Free medical tests? What? They don't have insurance? You do realize that since so many companies do not pay a living wage many families are food insecure in America don't you. Perhaps if the people you are better than had insurance and decent employment they could get medical help for smoking and drinking. Does not Obamacare promote personal responsibility like theHeritage Foundation touted when they developed it.
